Here's a new product for you conceal bow carry nuts... http://www.racembac.com has a new bow mag arrow point, that you can insert either a 38 or 357 mag which goes off on impact. I'm still having trouble find a good IWB conceal holster for my Mathews bow.

Who'd have thought that the movie stunt would become a reality?

I guess it was only a matter of time. I don't see these being legal for game animals, except perhaps during rifle seasons. Hogs, coyotes, etc, that have no season/limits I guess they might be legal. Guess the fish and game folks have some figuring out to do.

One question, though: Are they good for more than one shot? $40 per six can get real expensive if they are a one and done tip.

I've never tried the products...probably won't. My real passion is not handguns, it is archery and bow hunting. I live it. Thinking about this kind of ammunition arrow head kind of turns me off.....even crossbows kind of turn me off. Was always a traditional archer until about 14 yrs ago when I realized that the new 80% single cam compounds were a major improvement and accuracy prevailed. Now I'm a Mathews man.

How soon they forget....

This is nothing new at all. And, it works poorly.

There have been variations on these theme for a long time. I'm not a bow hunter, but I knew quite a few, and they've all tried this sort of thing and gone back to the tried and true broadhead.

The main complain is zero penetration, or nearly so. This is rooted in physics. You must consider that the arrow's mass, the tips mass and the mass of the bullet and target are all opposed.

On one side, we have bullet and targets mass. On the other side we have the weight of the arrow, and thespecial tip. Between them is an equal and opposite reaction. Yes there's target damage, but its... not great. Bullet "velocity" is just a few hundred feed per second faster than the arrow itself. And... they don't go off reliably, especially when the shot is poor and you hit the belly. A broadhead in the belly, btw, is largely a lethal wound.

Nothing to see here....

Besides if it really worked on a higher level the libs would be screaming for a ban.
