View Full Version : I gotta stop...
...checking out the pre-owned display case at my LGS / Indoor Range when I go in there to shoot.
Couple of weeks ago I came across a (pre-owned?) Kahr K9 that looked brand spankin' new. After $489 plus tax and background fee, it was mine. My son and I went in there this afternoon, me with my K9 and he with his, intending to put a few rounds down range. In the display case was what looked like a new Glock 19 - Gen 3. Inspection revealed it still had the bronze colored factory lubricant on the slide rails. After $389 plus tax and background fee, the K9 had to share range time with an ugly duckling. It aint pretty, but it sure does shoot well.

I seem to share the same addiction. Gave up on fighting it a couple years ago.

Nice deals! I'm kind of over BUYING guns... for a while, but I keep buying stuff for them! I spend way too much time online shopping and ordering stuff... too many good deals and alerting emails!

I'm with you, Wyn. After paring down some recently, my collection is just about where I want it. [except maybe a CM45 or MK45 if they ever build one] Thirteen pistols and a 45 carbine is more than I have time to shoot, but I can't think of one that I want to part with.

I just picked up a .308 bolt action rifle. I may soon seek federal funding for my disability.

OMG we had to go talking about the used gun case didn't we.. Now I'm in deep Sh!+
I have the same addicting problem with the used pistol cabinet. In the last year alone I bought a CZ82,CZPO-1 and a Ruger SR1911 all out of the same used gun cabinet. All three were in fantastic condition. The SR1911 still needed a little breaking in it was so new. The CZ82 (1987) looks like it was never issued and in someone's private collection and shot very little. If I had to guess the CZ PO-1 (2011) looks like it had about 400 rounds through it tops. The SR1911 for all intensive purposes is brand new, but previously owned, I guess would be the best way to put it. I can't help myself when I get near that used gun cabinet, there is just something about paying less for a pistol that some one else paid to break in for me. I actually have more pistols and rifles that I bought used then I do new. I do not know why people buy guns only to shoot a few rounds out of them and trade them in, but I'm sure as hell glad they do. I have ended up with some fine pistols and rifles that I wanted and saved a fairly substantial amount of money buy buying used.:D Every time I think I'm done and swearing off buying guns it seems like another one appears and follows me home.:o So I feel your pain mser.

+1. I've only purchased 2 new firearms ever. Love those used cabinets.
