I wouldn't go dude. It's our 25th this year also. We're takinga cruise to Alaska. I don't think I'm suppose to bring any of my little friends either but I figure I got a decent chance of getting back alive.
I wouldn't set foot in Mexico for 25 PM45's gifted to me. Call me yellow but I ain't going there. I wish you luck. If you get jammed try to get word here and I'll try to get a militia together and come get ya. Might risky.

We have a bunch of us here in Texas, we could be the tip of the spear. But I agree, now is not the time to be a tourist in Mexico. Even southern Mexico (beautiful place). I'll stay stateside or go to Israel, or Switzerland, those guys have good gun laws...

No way for me to go even close to mexico...not yellow bawanna, just wise:third:

If your young enough and can wait another 10 or 15 years then you might be ok. You'll have the whole place to yourself. They'll all be up here living on gubment cheese.
If enough of them leave there won't be enough for the corrupt government to steal from and they leave too. Wait, now it's starting to sound like Obamaville.

I would seriously reconsider vacationing in Mexico.

In between work and family, I am finishing a bachelor’s degree in security management. I just completed an eight-week course last Sunday titled Border and Coastal Security with an emphasis on the deteriorating U.S.-Mexico border and I am telling you that things are bad right now.
I know it’s a tough spot to be in since plans have been made and money has been spent, but you should at least reconsider your travel plans.
Best of luck to you and your wife.

Any idea whether we can bring our weapons if visiting Switzerland or Israel. Can't imagine we would be able to, but their gun laws are good for their own citizens.

I wouldn't go there either, they talk funny and you can't tell WTF they are saying. They could be planning to kill ya with a smile on their face and you'd never know it.
I'm thinking travel agents ain't gonna get rich off me.
I'm more of a visit Wyoming kind of guy, drive there, carry your gun, look at beautiful country, no airport security manned by folks that don't look like they come from here either, go when you ya want, stop when ya want. Montana, Colorado, Texas, probably all good.
Call me see America (or whats left of it) first.
My wife is Swedish but she's got a good handle on english, been here all her life, still slips occasionally and tries to eat off the back of her fork but with some occasional counsilling she gets along ok.

The other thing that can be done is like I used to do, acquire a piece of the black market, then before you leave, toss it down a sewer. God forbid you have to use it and toss it prematurely... But as my old man says "it's getting harder and harder to be an outlaw these days". Bawanna the U.S. still has some of the best places to see and play tourist, and I want to go to Alaska, if for no other reason than to say I've seen all 50 states. Of course if I live long enough to retire, my dream would be to go to Alaska become a State Trooper and get stationed in Dead Horse.

Hi Kramm,Try explaining to your wife that if she wants to see Mexicans that there are more of them here than in Mexico already so there`s really no need to go.It`s worth a shot.Good luck.

Dietrich, you should move to a border state. Although Caswell and Person counties have a LARGE number of them and of gang bangers too.

Try living in north Atlanta, or make that little Mexico....I was born and raised here and now I'm a minority!!! This Wednesday will be loads of fun here being Cinco de Mayo...I don't recall seeing the same type of turnout for the 4th of July but what the heck, It's their country now....I like what Larry the Cable Guy says about illegal immigramts...."What do you mean the government can't identify where the illegals are, There's 5000 of them right in front of my truck....Watch and see what van they get in and pull it over!!!!" As for the Cancun trip, don't waste your time and money...Did that trip a few years ago and also went to the Cayman islands after Cancun and both places were bore holes and tourist traps, Had much more fun on the ship....I too want to go to Alaska before I'm to old to enjoy it....Had a friend from work go to Canada and get on a train to Alaska and after that they got on a cruse ship and saw the rest...He had some beautiful pictures of the whole trip and really got me interested in going....

I forgot about that. I'll make sure I have my shotgun for that day. Thanks for reminding me. Here we have a very difficult time if we don't speak at least a little Spanish, or in some instances Spanglish.

I wanna take a cruise off the East Coast of Africa... the one where you get your choice of weapon, or BYOW, and all the ammo you can use... and go troll for pirates. They even let you pay them to protect their ship... what fun! Whee Ha!
One guy with a rifle.. halfway decent shot... on a high stable platform should be more than a match for half a dozen pirates with AKs and RPGs in a small, unarmored skiff bouncing about on the water. What could be more fun than you and a few dozen "buddies" opening up on the poor unsuspecting pirates.
After they get off the first shot, it's open season on pirates. I saw an ad for a cruise like that a few months ago. I wonder if that got off the ground... make a good birthday present for the gun enthusiast looking for new thrills.

Well, dang! That would spoil everyone else's fun.
Shoot, UPS went by on the wrong side of the street... I guess he'll turn around. I get regular ammo shipments and lots of other goodies... I am an Internet Hunter... and I let my fingers do the walking. When I see the target, I order the Charge! I used GunPal on this .380 Talon order... first use. Seller charged me 3.5%(~$6.50) for using the "2nd Amendment Friendly" Online payment service.

I just checked UPS tracking on my ammo:
Location Date Local Time Description What's This?
JACKSONVILLE, FL, US 05/03/2010 11:02 A.M. DESTINATION SCAN
JACKSONVILLE, FL, US 05/01/2010 7:19 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
It was "scheduled" for Tuesday delivery and I guess that's when I'll get it. 28 Hours between those times:confused:... no hurry, I guess.

Why go to Mexico when we have them coming to us right now? Just sit back on your front porch and you and the little lady can watch all that Mexico has to offer from the cozy and safe confines of your own home!

Well we made it back! No problems with the locals, lots people from th U.S. Weather was great the wife really enjoyed the trip and I didn't mind lying on the beach watching the people, some were really something to see. The water was nice and warm. Strange how the gals you wouldn't mind seeing topless never took them off and the one's that made you want to look at the sun did. oh well, it was ok. Got tired of telling the little shop owners NO, the worst part. Didn't like being unarmed.

Glad your trip went well. If you want to see Mexico again just drive south of San Antonio on Hwy. 35 or 37 and you can see all of it you want. Ain't nuthin there you can't git here, and carry your pistol at the same time. If you want to lie on the beach with "bodies" go to South Padre. Just saw today's body count in Acapulco. Almost as bad as Chicago.

That sounds like a winner...South Padre, if you've never been or never been during the season you'll never know what you are missing. If you have been, it's like a trip to Vegas, you just smile when you think about it. Plus in Corpus Christi, you have all the comforts of home and the USS Lexington, just some food for thoughts from some one who enjoys history.

Glad you had a great time. I travel to Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Belize and others many times a year for business and pleasure. Pay attention, do not go to the well known trouble spots and you will have no troubles.
I am much safer in many Latin American countries than in most major US cities.

Your actually probably correct, many US cities are downright ugly. I still salute you, your the bravest man I ever met
I'm paying attention and I've identified my trouble spot as anywhere south of northern Texas. Guess I'm just a big coward when it comes to third world corrupt countries although we may be in the running ourselves at our current rate. All the more reason to pay attention I reckon.

Don't doubt that you are right... but you have the luxury of knowledge of this part of the world. Like anywhere else in the world there are safe spots and hot spots; you just need to be aware of where they are. I've travelled to many continents and a lot of the places I spent time you absolutely cannot go to now.

I'm up for that cruise Wynn, gotta get my sea legs back any how, and my sea shooting skills back. I like the mini gun rental though. Maybe I'll rob a couple of drug dealers to pay for it (long had thoughts about that financial independence). And yes Wynn, I'm more than half way serious... not much more but still.

We stayed in a gated area, you had to have I.D. to get in. didn't see many leo inside but several outside. We only left the area two times. Qnce to go to Tiulum and to the airport. Went by Padre Island once it had been stroming and it was flooded in the area. I really don't have a problem with Mexican people as long as they are here legal. If you watch what your doing and where your at you'll be alright.

I can remember a few dashes down to Ciudad Acuña from San Angelo, Texas, while I was going to tech school there ~'65 - '66. It was pretty cheap... the liquor and the women. We were young and didn't feel threatened. After I was commissioned in '72, I went to Navigator training at Mather AFB, CA, and we had a cross country training flight to San Diego in '73. We walked across into Tijuana and I was so paranoid... we more or less turned around and went back to the U.S. side. I haven't had any desire to go South of the border since then. Spain and Italy, and OH YEAH! Morocco were risky enough. I was always glad to get back to Germany and a first-world country.
Since I got my carry permit, I don't want to go anywhere I can't take a gun.

Kramm, I'm glad you and your wife made it back home safely and had a good time too.
I'm not posting this as an "I told you so," but as a reminder to anyone else that Mexico is a dangerous place.
12 Bodies Found in Cancun, Mexico
19 June 2010
Mexican police say they have found 12 mutilated corpses in hidden graves on the outskirts of Cancun, the latest sign drug-related violence is spreading to the popular tourist destination.
Authorities announced the discovery Friday, adding that some of the bodies had the letter "Z" carved on their chests, a likely reference to the powerful Zetas drug smuggling gang.
The grim find is at least the second such discovery this month.
In May, Mexican police arrested Cancun's mayor Gregorio Sanchez on suspicion of offering information and protection to the Zetas, as well as the Beltran Leyva cartel.
Sanchez's Democratic Revolutionary Party denounced the charges.
