I must say that I love the look and design of the P380. I am an experienced Leo and firearms instructor, and really tried to love the p380. However, in the end, the poor service at Kahr prevailed.
My experience with Kahr started about 3 months ago with my rear sight falling off, and kahr having to replace the slide (and barrel) due to it being out of spec....I purchased the upgraded night sights at the same and told them about the magazines falling out when firing.
Gun came back and had so many FTF and nose dives that I could not get through an entire magazine. Sent back and came back again with light primer strikes (with 3 brands of ammo) and more nose dives. Forced myself to burn up 300 rounds to make sure new parts were broken in.
Sent back again and more light primer strikes so I demanded a new gun. Customer service Vice President promised a new gun with all new magazines. I received a new frame with old slide and only 2 of the 4 magazines replaced.... And strange hammer marks all over my new sights ( see pic). Gun would not cycle a new round using the slide release with hornady critical defense (which it always did before) and slide would not lock back on last round using any magazine.

I am so frustrated!!! Four times back and lied to by kahr manager. My department will not allow me to qualify with this gun as a backup due to the lack of reliability. Just wanted to share my experience with Kahrs very bad service. Oh and btw kahr said to send it back again and they will try it again....http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/18/6a3usyme.jpg

I bought my Kahr new and knew there would be a break-in period. I also have a Bersa 380 and a S&W 38SP. The Kahr makes me want to throw it on the ground--well at least back in my range bag-- every time I go to the range. Ammo jams, regardless of brand, half ejects and takes a crowbar to release it, etc., etc.etc. the magazines refuse to load all the way unless I bang them against a hard surface--not the optimum or safest method.

The Bersa plays like a fine violin by comparison.

Anyone else with this problem?

I had a failure to return to battery issue after about 150 rounds. Kahr sent more recoil springs. I also learned during breakin you need to run these wet with oil. Not dripping but more wet than you would like.

I have never played a Bersa like a violin, mainly because I couldn't find a bow that would work..............your Kahr is feeling your negativity, and it doesn't like it.................considering you state that you are banging magazines on hard surfaces...............I would suggest, and this is not knowing how many rds. you have fired so far..........oil it like you were going to mud wrestle it..........get a Maglula loader, find your zen......then go out and shoot it like you own it........300 rds................then, if you're still having problems, you got a lemon.................there's some in every bunch of whatever..................

Gee fellas I'd like to join the boo hoo chorus, but my P380 has been damn near flawless. It's accurate, reliable and digests just about anything that I've run through it. The only ammo it doesn't like is Winchester flat nose. I did replace the recoil spring once and cleaned up a burr on the extractor, but other than that it's been a pure joy to shoot. Why not get in touch with Kahr Service, politely explain your problems and tell them that you want to love their gun. They want you to love it too. Honest.

I'll join the boo-hoo chorus. My P380 also has also been in for repairs four times. Now it stovepipes roughly every other round- and that's using quality ammo (Speer Lawman, Hornady Critical Defense). The gunsmiths at Kahr have replaced the cocking cam three times. Impressive. I'd just like them to get it working well enough that I can sell it in good conscience.

Make sure you put it up for sale here first, someone will make it work...................

If you are experiencing stove pipe jambs you are either limp wristing the gun or you have a bad ejector. P380s are especially sensitive to limp wristing. A recoil spring that is too heavy can also cause stove pipe jambs, but that isn't likely the problem with your P380.

Sorry to hear. Retired LEO here with absolute love for all my Kahr pistols, especially the P380. My Glock blew up in my hands, but they just issued me another one. Can happen to any brand.
