Best ammo for CW 45 ?

Just traded for a CW 45 today and haven't shot it yet, I have a bunch of different 45 acp. Was wondering what ammo you all use that works good in the CW 45? I have a bunch of Winchester white box, Aguila, Blazer, In the JHP I have Winchester black talons, Hornady, and Federal. Thanks

I try to shoot ammo with brass cases instead of something made out of an alloy and usually lean towards going heavy for the caliber, like 147gr in 9, 180gr in 40 and 230gr in 45.

I tend not to deviate from those that I find to work until I can't find them any more, then I figure something else out.

My "what I have tried" list for the cw45 is pretty short. At this point, my cw45 has not had any trouble with Winchesters or Federals FMJs in 230gr and has done equally well with the Ranger-T and HST JHPs in 230gr.

230-gr Blazer aluminum is one of my favorites, but anything works... the cheaper the better, as long as it isn't steel-cased. I stick to standard pressure 230-gr FMJ and JHP, with my carry load being the 230-grain Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel. Those are designed for shorter barreled pistols like our Kahrs. The cavities are shallower and wider at the bottom... the "flying ashtrays". I prefer bonded stuff, so the Remington BONDED Golden Sabers are another option, But I carry the GDSB in every caliber that they are available.

Mine has handled everything except Hornady Critical Duty. It's too long.

Mine has run everything I've fed it just fine. Never tried the Hornaday as I've heard from several folks here about issues.

The only kind I've run through mine are WWB and Remington fmj.

No problems.

For range shooting I've had some issues with Remington UMC. The Winchester white box works much better in my experience. I have not tried any reloads or aluminum case ammo at this time.

Best performers in my CW45 to date have been Speer Gold Dot and Hornady TAP, both in 200-grain flavor.
I also shoot 200-grain RNFP cast bullets in my handloads without a hitch.

Mine shows an affinity for Hornady 230gr +P HP. Feeds it flawlessly and it is very accurate.
