This map shows which states are gaining adjusted gross income, which states are losing it, and from which other states they are either gaining or losing from. Breaks it down by county when you click on an individual state. I must say I am not surprised by the performance of most of the blue states and counties.

Sarge, that's a good find.

I'm gonna steal it and post it in a couple other places if you don't mind.

Very interesting. Wish my wife would be in favor of a move from Connecticut.

So the gains for California are from the failed east and great lakes states and the money fleeing is going to more independent states.

Some how I just don't see that working out too well for California.

Don't mind at all, that's what I did too. If we spread the word enough, maybe some people will wake up one of these days.

I don't understand how Ohio can be considered a blue state when the house, senate and governors mansion are controlled by republicans and our unemployment rate is below the national average.

Muggsy, one thing I can think of is where Ohio's electoral votes for president went in the past 2 elections.

Ohio was bought with "Obama phones."

Because nationally the Ohio vote is Democratic. Seems strange to me as well having both lived and worked there in past years. Culture's always felt naturally conservative to me.

Btw, congrats on the new 70 mph, intercity speed limit and dumping the truck speed differential, as well as moving work zone management into the 21st century. Made my recent runs through Ohio a pleasure as opposed the past, usual chore.

My state was one of the largest gainers and my county was one of the top six in the state. Wonder why I haven't noticed!!

The state's gain came from, in order, New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois, and Ohio. I can't say that's a surprise.

My wife just showed me this on FoxNews. I thought it was facinating ... my Mom & Dad started out back in the mid-40's in CT, and ended up in NC. We currently live in CT and may very well end up doing the same thing my parents did in another couple of years when it's time to retire. And according to "HowMoneyWalks.com" that may be a smart thing to do.

O'dell, guard your guns. I grew up in Tennessee and between all the music industry, liberals moving in, and "immigrant/refugees", Tennessee elected a native NY'er to mayor of Nashville and then I believe Governor. And I believe Corker and Alexander and bowing more to Obama to stay in office even tough they are "Republicans."

It's not the same place where I grew up it seems to me. For crying out loud, you can't even kill a snake.

I've lived in Georgia for over forty years.

Like NJ, Powerful Unions!

Unions have been in decline for years. The only growth in unions has come in the government sector, teachers, police, fire and government workers.

Ohio isn't red or blue. Ohio went to Bush in the two previous elections. It also went for Reagan twice. Ohio would be a red state if the republicans would run an electable conservative candidate instead of a freaking RINO.
