Bought my SA GI about 10 years ago. Haven't shot it much at all for the past few years because I've been fiddlin' with the Kahr and Ruger plastic pistols.
This one has about 750-800 rounds downrange, and is completely stock:

Nice, you better get out a rag because before long there will be people drooling all over it.

Bottom GI RIA 1911 I purchased about two years ago.
Both are good reliable 1911 fun.

Know what you mean - the lakes & rivers around here are paved with steel & polymer.

Still no 1911 for me.
Maybe that will be my 2014 goal?
I'm thinking an Ed Brown Special Forces might be nice...

Been to Pattaya a few times in the past, just can't get some of the images I "experienced" there ever out of my head. Not that I really want too!
Here's my homecoming present to myself when coming home from Iraq at the end of '07:
Well, dang. I don't have any pics on this computer and the one that did have them ended up with some very well placed .45" circular holes by the same homecoming present. It is a SA Mil-Spec. Nothing fancy but the closest I could find to the old Colts I carried when first enlisting in the early '80s.

Thanks Greg,
I do enjoy shooting it and when I take friends shooting who don't train much, it sure helps them feel good. :)

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself here, but I can't for the life of me imagine what kind of images you maintain in you head. I have lived here 28 years now and it just looks like your run of the mill small towns to me - honest.

I do agree with the small town aspect, but the night life is like nothing I've ever seen before or since!
I'll just say, Maralynn's A-Go-Go!
