Seymour Hersh: Obama Administration Narrative Of Bin Laden Death ‘One Big Lie’

September 27, 2013 by Ben Bullard
Pulitzer journalist Seymour Hersh, who first earned recognition for breaking the My Lai massacre scandal, doesn’t buy the Obama Administration’s narrative of how Osama bin Laden was taken down. In fact, he thinks American media is mostly garbage and coddles President Barack Obama instead of hitting the streets to suss out the truth behind sanctioned press releases.
Hersh told The Guardian American media – and The New York Times, in particular – spends most of its energies “carrying water for Obama than I ever thought they would.”
From the interview:
Do you think Obama’s been judged by any rational standards? Has Guantanamo closed? Is a war over? Is anyone paying any attention to Iraq? Is he seriously talking about going into Syria? We are not doing so well in the 80 wars we are in right now, what the hell does he want to go into another one for. What’s going on [with journalists]?
…Why do newspapers constantly cite the two or three groups that monitor drone killings. Why don’t we do our own work?
Our job is to find out ourselves, our job is not just to say – here’s a debate’ our job is to go beyond the debate and find out who’s right and who’s wrong about issues. That doesn’t happen enough. It costs money, it costs time, it jeopardises, it raises risks.
As for the bin Laden narrative?
“Nothing’s been done about that story, it’s one big lie, not one word of it is true,” he said. “The Pakistanis put out a report, don’t get me going on it. Let’s put it this way, it was done with considerable American input. It’s a bullsh*t report.”
Hersh said his solution to the lapdog media problem would involve firing 90 percent of America’s newspaper editors and replacing them with “editors that you can’t control;” people “who look you in the eye and say, ‘I don’t care what you say.’”
Then he’d shut down the major television news networks and “start all over, tabula rasa.”
Who wants to go first?:amflag:

Pretty sure you won't find many that will argue this. True journalism in this country is as foreign in this country as many of those who vote multiple times for the democraps.

The conservative media is no better. If Obama announced that people shouldn't eat yellow snow Fox news would come on and explain how good yellow snow is.

The idea was that the press would be the watchdog looking over the shoulder of government. Unfortunately the media have just become cheerleaders for the right and left. We really can't put any stock in what any of them say. We tend to use them only to affirm what we already believe.

Fox would say that yellow snow was good for you only if they could document the evidence that eating yellow snow was good for you. There in lies the difference. And, if fox makes a mistake they own up to it in prime time, not at 2:00 A.M. on a Sunday.

Some say the SEALS, just found the grave of Bin Laden, and dug him up, and whisked his remains off to a ship. Maybe that is why there are no pictures of a bullet ridden body, or video of the assault.
Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, said on TV that in 2007 that Bin Laden had been killed by Islamic terrorist, Ahmed Omar Saaed Sheikh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Omar_Saeed_Sheikh) A month later she was assassinated. http://www.examiner.com/article/media-cover-up-former-pakistani-leader-said-bin-laden-was-already-dead-2007

But then again, the person that supposedly informed the US where the Bin Laden compound was, is currently serving a long prison sentence in a Pakistan prison for some kind of spying charge or something along those lines.

I don't know what the truth is of course. Just sharing some stuff I found. If you google Bhutto and Bin Laden's death a slew of websites pop up with this story. I don't know why she would lie about it. There is nothing to gain by it.

Anyway, he is dead, and that's what matters.

I think that TheTman should change his name to the TheCTman. The CT standing for conspiracy theory. A far more fitting name. :)

The conservative media is very twisted. Fox news should be called the republican ministry of propaganda.

And the rest of the media should be called the socialist democrat ministry of propaganda. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, et al. Obama, the anointed one, in their eyes can do no wrong. Conservatives, like our founding fathers, are for less government interference in our lives. What are you for John222?

Yea, like Fox spent the last few years convincing people without health care that health care is not good for them....

I'm a old fashioned moderate republican, which would be liberal by today's conservative standards. I get my news from all sources and can tell you msnbc and Fox are the Jerry Springer's of news shows. If your getting all your news from the likes of Fox & Briebart your being played for a fool.

Muggsy, you're a humorous guy. I simply quoted what the former Prime Minister of Pakistan said. Did I say I believed it? No. I said that is what some people believe. Is it possible? Sure, anything is possible considering no photos or video of the raid has been released. Could Obama have faked the whole raid and the story to boost his popularity?
It's a possibility. There is no proof for any of this. Not one photo of a dead body. I don't know about you, but I don't take Obama's word on anything. We all know when he is lying, his lips are moving.
There are also stories he died of natural causes, and many other stories about how he died years before the raid. Do I believe any of them? None in particular. I'm just glad he is dead, however it happened. Does it make sense to argue over what or how it happened? No, unless you enjoy arguing.
CTman, I like that, except people would probably think I was from Conneticut and I don't want that. Maybe you should change your name to "No one is right but me". :) Just wisecracking back atcha buddy.

Seems to something going around, if you post a Thought Provoking article, you own it, as if you wrote it....
The beauty we all have here is, if the subject is of no interest to you, don't read it.
