Thinking of picking up a Kahr CW9 to go along with my CM40 that I purchased last November. So far my CM40 has been 100% flawless for over 1,000 rounds. I've been looking to pick up a 9mm carry gun and the CW9 really caught my attention. I can get one NIB at a law enforcement price of $337.00. What's the feedback on the CW9 around here??

Really love these little gems that Kahr makes.

I like mine so much I bought a second one. The price you quoted is very good.

I have two Kahr pistols. A CW9 and a CM9. I discovered the CM9 was uncomfortable to shoot and after I put Picerce extensions on both magazines there was no advantage in grip length over the CW9. In the summer I carry the CW9 in the front pocket of cargo shorts or in a pancake with an untucked shirt. Fall and Winter carry in the pancake using sweaters or jackets for cover.

The CW9 is my most carried pistol. I use a Hogue slip on with one finger grove to make for me the perfect grip. I carry a spare magazine and found you need to use a mag carrier. The 7 round magazine in a pocket always looses one or two rounds, very madding.

Great pistol!

I've tried a few of the other small 9mm pistols available and the CW9 is still my favorite. FWIW, those other pistols were/are (still have some of them) Beretta Nano, Diamondback DB9, S&W Shield, Kahr CM9, Kel-Tec PF9, and P11; also the slightly larger CZ Rami, Glock G26 and S&W 3913. Some of these were not as reliable as the CW9, not as accurate in my hands, didn't point as naturally in my hands, or didn't carry as well. Some also had features I didn't care for or lacked features that I did care for. There are guns from other makers that I've shot or held but didn't care enough for to buy.

P.S. - the CW45 is my favorite Kahr:)

$337 is the lowest price I've seen for a new CW9. They are great for IWB or OWB carry.

I regularly carry a CM9 and for spare mag carry, I use a Recluse pocket mag carrier. I just drop it in my pocket and it prevents the top round from popping out

For me, I find the cw9 (or even the cw40) to be about the perfect size for iwb carry. While I have one in the cm size and it works, too, I tend to use the cm for deeper carry situations. Because it has a little more mass, more room between the sights and three finger grip, the cw9 might be a bit more fun at the range, too.

Thanks for all the info thus far!! I really like my CM40 and I carry it in a PJ IWB holster above my right hip. The CM40 is not for the faint of heart, however, as it is really a hand cannon. I handle recoil well as I've shot thousands and thousands of rounds in my career. The CW9 just looks like it would be a great carry gun for IWB especially in the winter months here in Ohio when I can get away with hiding a slightly larger pistol.

The CW9 will shoot like a 38 spec with 148 grn wad cutters compared to your Kahr 40. I have both the CW9 & the CW40, the 40 has the factory comped barrel.

The CW9 is one of the most "comfortable pistols to shoot" that I own and I have more than a few 9's that are significantly larger and heavier...

I'd grab it in a heartbeat. I'm not much on smaller grip pistols these days. Used to think I was...but I'm not.

When I had a PM, decided in wanted a P. Once I had the P, decided I wanted a TP. Now I'm happy :-)

I'll be real happy once I have two TPs in the collection.

Seriously, I think you'd really enjoy a CW in the mix. Never shot a 40cal Kahr, but I have to believe the rest of you guys. No thanks. But if you are pretty happy w/ the CM/PM sized 40, you'll love shooting the CW/P size 9. Personally though, the reverse would be the better way to go I think. CW40 and PM9. Just sayin'.

Do it. You know you want to ;)

Sounds like a great price! I would go for it in a heart beat; I love my CW40 for daily carry. Personally I find it is a perfect size for a edc weapon.

Definitely get it.

I carry one daily and it's awesome.

I paid $499.00 for mine because California sucks.

Mine has been absolutely 100% from day one.

I love my cw9. Great carry piece and I can shoot the hell out of it. I'm wanting to get a cm9 for a even smaller carry and just because I like kahrs.
