I'll be picking up a new P380 tomorrow and I was wondering if there is any particular range of serial numbers for the P380 that have been shown to have problems?

I would expect that it has a new serial number in the current range.

Which brings up another question: What is the current range of serial numbers for the P380?

I would just hold out a few more months. I'll be buying a cw380 ASAP, or at least after the hype.

I like the boring C slides better than the P series.

Sorry I'm off beat, figured I would just add my thoughts on the p/cw380.

P380 serial numbers go:

RAXXXX
RBXXXX
RCXXXX
RDXXXX

As far as I can tell, they built approx. 10K of each prefix and them move on. Best I can tell, they are currently in the very high RD's (around RD9XXX). I had a RA3XXX and it ran fine. I don't know that you can say a certain range is more likely to "jam" than another.

RD11XX here so its newer.
Only 170 rounds, but flawless so far with four different brands of ammo.

Thanks addicted, I really was going to wait for the CW380 as I have two carry guns. I felt the CW380 was a very good BUG. BUT, the carry guns are a 9mm and a .45 Springfield XD-S which have been recalled with instructions of "Do Not Use" until repaired. Springfield has not yet developed fix so it will be longer than the original 30 days they said. I'm carrying my 9mm now and had planned on sending it in when the .45 came back. I NEED to get a backup NOW so I can stop using the 9mm. While I wanted to wait on the CW380 (a great deal), I sold a rifle went for the P380. I know I'll really like the P380 and I need a backup now.

On the recall - you can read about it here:
