HI kids. I have had my CW45 for about 9-10 months and really like the pistol. I started having the mag drop issues that others have had. Mine seemed to drop with one round in the mag (chamber was empty when it dropped). I followed the advice in the other forum. I called Kahr and they sent a new mag catch that was machined correctly. I also modified the mag follower so that it does not come into contact with the catch. Took it to the range today and out of about 12 or so mags, only one dropped. Better, but still one too many for an EDC.
My question is, I read in the other forum about installing a stiffer mag catch spring. Is this something Kahr can send? Aftermarket part? Honestly, I'm not too keen on the "tape in the mag well" fix. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums:)
My CW45 dropped mags, but the steps you've taken already (new latch/modified followers) fixed that issue.
However, I did notice (and wrote about here (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showpost.php?p=15667&postcount=2)) one other thing that might contribute to the mag drop is the possibility that the slide/extractor is hitting the OEM magazine. I run modified Officer's/Compact 1911 magazines in my gun and this is a non-issue with them.
Have you totally eliminated your grip as a contributing factor? (Had anyone else shoot it?)
I don't know if Kahr makes a "stiffer" mag catch spring. It certainly wouldn't hurt to give them a call about a replacement spring on the outside chance that the one you have in your pistol now is faulty.

they don't, the spring is really stiff enough IMO, Kentone, u fixed ur issue. It is certainly not really an issue but ur mag release button certainly was out of spec and a replacemtnty took care of that. It happens, rarely but it happens. IMO not a thing wroong wht the mag spring (rod)..

Those Are good points, gb. I'll look into the mag hitting the slide and possibly look into a compact 1911 mag. I think my grip is fine as it always happened with one round in the mag, but I'll have a friend shoot it anyway just to make sure. Thanks for your help.

try shootin it left handed to seeif it duplicates the same issues. Sometimes the ol thumb gets in the way and we just don't realize it.. Just sayin
