Noob here, just purchased a new P380 and it's just so right for pocket carry. I've read everything I could in here before shooting it, cleaned, white lithium, mirror finish feed ramp, polished inside of chamber and anywhere that any friction would occur was polished. Shot 100 PMC 90 gr & 50 Rem 102 gr with multiple problems, FTF(had to bump with hand to go into battery), light primer hits(fail to shoot)> pretty sure these were due to the 1/8" out of battery that I did not see, and couple stovepipes. Brought it home scrubbed it with the proper Brake Cleaner, Gotta love that little hole for the striker assembly. Then I got to work doing a 500 rack/slidestop marathon, wow, that was work but used a leather glove.(Sweet little gun). Bought 2 boxes of 95 gr Lawman and back to the range today, Started with the 7 mag, dropped the slide with slidestop, bang right into battery, blew right through the mag no problems, 2nd mag same results, now came the little issue, every mag after that I had to bump 1/16" to get into battery then it ran the mag every time with zero issues. I then did a test, loaded 4 in mag and it banged right into battery perfectly, then loaded loaded 7 and no good. Re tested with 4 in mag and it worked fine. Seems like it got very dirty after the first 2 perfect runs or there is to much torque caused by a fully loaded mag. The little beast runs mags through it like a little buzz saw, just a fantastic pocket carry weapon. If anyone thinks of something that didn't read or just missed to solve this mystery I would appreciate. Maybe another 200 through this little beast then the FTF(Drop Slide Battery Issue) just might melt away.
Proud owner of a Gen1 G19, G26, G27 & G22c and now a superb little invisible quality Kahr P380.

did the flush fit magazine do OK??? try this for fun . take the magazine spring out of the 6 round flush fit magazine andinstall it i the 7 round magazine and do a retest.

I am not a fan of the extended magazine.

U might fully polish under the magazine tubes feed lips to. they may feel smooth but u not huring a darn thing by polishing that area

also with the slide off the gun put a good polish on that stripper bar (interface) downthemiddle of the slide. Thatis a friction point also. Smooth is good. Smootheris better. Just sayin

My P380 hated 102 remington ammo.so I just moved on to anutter defense brand. It loves powerball by Corbon.

Jocko, excellent idea with the spring swap, would definitely lighten the load and give an answer. I did take down my mags and cleaned / polish both mag lips and it was probably something I already read by you. I did try the 6 rnd mag and didn't lock into battery either but ran the mag perfectly. I will get back to range and try the spring swap, that just might be the trick. THX
(good polish on that stripper bar (interface) downthemiddle of the slide.) that was also polished

ifthis battery thing persists, drop kahr anemailattn: Jay and suggest a new recoil spring assembly. Sometimes that works. Even thoguh yours are new, they could be atad weak. Ihave no doubt that rounds down range will loosenup the gun evenmore and this might dissappear..

Will do the 'Jay' thing if it doesn't disappear, and I already thought the spring could be weak but it runs the whole mag after I bump it in, go figure. I will get this ironed out, right now it's only an added step but the guns runs so well.
Thank you for all your help.

Well back to the range yesterday with 150 Lawman & a box of Rem 102 gr GS. I have to admit I found an issue that I was causing, when I dropped the slide with lock lever I was getting a lot of FTRB all but (1/16") and had to bump in with my hand before. Also I had a few of the condition when shooting, I am disabled on my right arm and hand(very little grip) so I have to pay close attention to detail while shooting(shoot left handed). I hold the P380 with my right hand by the grip I reach over with left hand(thumb) to drop slide, now if I wrap my right finger around the front of the trigger guard(hold tight) and use my left hand to support my right hand then drop slide with the lock I never had a FTRB after that(also hold P380 very very snug while shooting now). Very pleased that the main issue that I was having is gone. All in all I didn't count how mags went into battery perfectly meant is wasn't an issue anymore.
*** This happened only one time that stumped me, I dropped the slide and I noticed that it FTF but the round was fully visible with slide jammed open. I carefully studied it and saw that the striker pin was fully out and the top of the rim was stopped dead under it. Now that never happened again but what would of let the striker pin even come out. After that I also started peeking in to maked sure the striker was locked back and not showing. I am pocket carrying my little beast with confidence now:D
