This is from a mini 3-gun match that I did yesterday. My scope bumped the brim of my hat and messed up the camera angle, but I think you can tell what is going on. The longest shot is from the top of the tower and is around 300 yards. The shortest shots are at the bottom of the tower and are around 5 yards. I'm shooting my Daniel Defense M4V7 with a Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4, Remington 870 20 gauge, and M&P 45.

The range owner that does this match is a former Navy shooting instructor and is kind of salty. He's the guy that you hear yelling at me in the background. Also, there is NO running at this range so the match is geared toward accuracy rather than speed.

It was lots of fun. I learn something new just about every time I go out there. After the match, I shot my AR15 pistol w/Sig arm brace and figured out that it does not like PMAGS. With metal mags it does not have any problems shooting .223 or 5.56. :)

Great shooting.
I'm sure that shooting a variety of competitive matches really adds to your skills.
I imagine that most folks stick to one i.e.. IDPA, 3 gun, steel etc. You should be proud of yourself and how well you train and compete.
On average how many rounds do you shoot in a typical month?

I couldn't have participated in that match due to my fear of heights which stems from my mother repeatedly dropping me on my head when I was young. That was some mighty fine shootin, melissa5. ;)

I shoot 2 USPSA matches a month - about 300 rounds. The tower match is the only rifle/shotgun shooting that I do - 5 rounds shotgun, 20 rounds rifle, 32 pistol. After the match I will shoot 20-40 rounds through one of my rifles. I shoot 4 GSSF matches a year, add 330 pistol rounds per match. About once a month I will shoot 50 rounds at the range to test a new gun or sights. I really don't shoot a lot outside of matches. I guess if I did, I would be improving faster in the matches. So, to answer your question, a typical month is about 425 rounds. A GSSF month is about 750 rounds. Reloading helps a lot on cost. :D

Thanks Muggsy! I'm not really wild about the ladders either.

I'm shocked! I can't imagine yer mom dropping you on yer head. You seem like such a sweet gurl. Keep yer powder dry.

I used to fall out of bed alot so my momma got be a bunk bed and made me sleep on the top bunk. Apparently the same result.

Love it! It's the perfect length for me to get a good cheek weld. You'd have to be a bodybuilder to use it as it is meant to be Used. Lol
