That some mighty nice lookin machinery there, CJB. I may be startin to get the urge again. Then again, it might just be gas. :)
I personally like the double bottle holder right above the tail light.... charming!
Had a good turnout this year... maybe... oh.. 1500 bikes. Thats not like Leesburg - packing close to 200,000 bikes into a 2.5 mile area. Nor Daytona with its widespred bikedom. But each year its growing. Leesburg is on its 17th year, and the first year they had it, it was fewer than 25 motorcycles.

What's the story on that stretch limo bike. Does it have 3 tires on the back and can stand on the alone?
Seems like that would get right interesting if you leaned over into a turn and got off the center tire and onto the outer one. Change things all around.
Yah, three tires. No accounting for the engineering. Looks can be fooling... but it does, at first glance, look interesting.
They been doing this a few years. I can't remember how many. Six or seven. They need to get real corporate involvement, and convince down town to revamp for a few days. They need to control traffic and they need to spend the dollars for security to control traffic flow of bikes as well as the cages. If they do that, they'll have a real fun thing going downtown. They also need to ramp up the entertainment. They had a band playing nice music, but Yes and Steely Dan and Paul Simon hits just don't cut it at a biker event. I mean some of thats ok, but... ya know... we need to have music that cuts thru the buzz. Listening to them do a nice rendition of Mother and Child Reunion and The Boxer is... well... its lacking.
Leesburg has The Rat Hole two blocks off Main Street with music from about 11am to midnite. Main Street has two main venues that switch back and forth, plus a few more, smaller, "off Main Street" things going on beween main gigs.
Downtown Daytona - Boot Hill is ok, over-rated. Froggies has several venues at once, and Main Street Station has several outdoor venues at once. Further down the road...The Bank is the place for the blues, always.

Muggsy, let me know if you do ... a friend of mine may possibly become the owner of about a dozen 25-30 old Harleys that he will be looking to sell.

leessburg the 2ndyear they had the event. I was at my daughters and she told meabout it Not alot of action then either. Put on a good event and they will come, ur weathert is such that it can be done numerous times and draw good crowds.
Last time I tried to ride to bietoberfest, I liked to never had gotten home to Indiana. Weather turned to sh!t and snow around atlanta. I won't do that sh!t again. I still rememberrt a cop in atlanta pulling up to me and the bike at a stop ligtht and just shaking his head. Stupidf is as stupid does: forrest gump.. If memory tells me the event was centered around the old leesburg dealership to, ..
No.. Leesburg is now a city owned event and pays taxes to run whole town for the rest of the year. Every dollar spent at Leesburg, the city gets a cut. Figure a quarter million folks all spend at least a hundred bucks bucks a day x four days... they raise sometimes hah to a third in city share. City gets a dollar on every beer, water, soda.... they get special bed tax and parking fees. They get a buck a meal. Folks in Leesburg love bikers...we pay their taxes!

not sure it was that way back at the beginnig, was it??? Itr is a growing event and just shows that if run correctly both sides win. Bikers spend money, they travel on their stomachs..
I wasnot referring to the event being sponsored by the leesburg HD dealer back then but I seem to recall it was basically in the center of the event or close by..

Thanks RevRay, but every time I mention buying a scooter Mrs. Muggsy reminds me that I don't fall off nearly as graceful as I used to and don't heal near as quick. Has your friend got any with training wheels?
Jocko, that would be Gator Harley-Davidson. They do their own thing, and have their own huge sideshow during Leesburg. Its worth going to.
Gator Harley is not too far from Main Street. Its down the road... maybe two and a half miles or so. Close enough. Main Street festivities are about two miles long and three quarte miles wide - with side street activity.
Of all the gatherings in Florida, Leesburg is my favorite. The Spook's N Scoots gets raves, as does Roscoe's Chili Cookoff. Both are a bit too raunchy for this ol' greybeard. I don't mind some occasional nice gal in paint, or less... but the entire premise of Roscoe's is raunch. SnS is not a whole lot better.
Daytona... just too yuppie. Old farts wondering if their new chaps make their asses look fat.
There's Sebring, its a baby. And there's Panama Beach.... not made that yet.

Great looking bikes! In the first pic did y'all notice the (naked devil woman) bottle opener hidden next to the left cyclender head? Very important when traveling on those long day trips!
