Undercut trigger guard

For those of you who've done it, how do you know when to stop before breaking into the frame? How about the back side where your web goes?

I've not done it myself. The only Kahr I can remember seeing with an undercut trigger guard was this CW9 (http://www.armslist.com/posts/1817766/nebraska-handguns-for-sale--kahr-cw-9-short-grip--price-reduced--sold) (which was also chopped to "covert" size).
