to be an American.
Yep these guys can vote too. Kind of makes you wonder why we care at all.
I wish that boulder rolled on top of him and he had to cut off his leg with a pocket knife to get free.

I'm proud to be in America,
Where at least I know I'm free.
Where I can push big rocks around,
And stand up when I pee ...
That's all I've got so far.
There once were three dorks from the West,
Who just had to show us their best.
They pushed over some rocks,
Those magnificent jocks,
And displayed their manly breasts.

Word on the internet (has to be true) is all three hoodlums are facing felony charges for damaging that hysterical monument.
I say hang em and hang em high! Some say it's just a rock but it's the rock and being a hoodlum just to be a hoodlum, well we have a cure for that.

Hopefully we'll read about them in the yearly stupid gene pool deletion report. Probably knock Lincoln off his chair if they thought they could.

I think if they outlawed YouTube it would go a long way to stop crime and basic stupidity in general...How many totally dumb things have been done and how many Bozo idiots injured just to get something posted on YouTube....

Agreed but where would I learn how to replace the firing pin in my Marlin 336?

Yea, good point there...Lots of good stuff on YouTube along with the other insane stuff...How about having someone responsible watch the videos sent in and let stuff like replacing a firing pin stay on but when Bubba sends in a video of him going down a slip n slide backwards on a mini bike all while shooting bottle rockets out his a$$ before going off a cliff with an umbrella attached to his nut sac while singing "Hunka Hunka Burning Love"....Perhaps those should be deleted....Just one old man's humble opinion

Surprise! Surprise!
Scout leader topples ancient rock formation; charges likely
Companions say loose stone posed danger
Associated Press
SALT LAKE CITY — Utah authorities are mulling whether to press charges against a Boy Scouts leader who purposely knocked over an ancient Utah desert rock formation and the two men who cheered him on after they posted video of the inci*dent online.
Two of the men, who were leading a group of 14- to 16-year-old Boy Scouts on a trip, said the top of the rock formation was loose and they feared it was dangerous. “This is about saving lives,” Dave Hall, who shot the video, told The Associated Press on Fri*day. “One rock at a time.”
The rock formation at Goblin Valley State Park is about 170 million years old, Utah State Parks spokesman Eugene Swalberg said. The park in central Utah is dotted with thousands of the eerie, mushroom shaped sand*stone formations.
Viral video
In a video posted on Facebook, Glenn Taylor of Highland, Utah, can be seen last Friday wedging himself between one for*mation and a boulder to knock a large rock off the formation’s top. Taylor and his two companions can then be seen cheering, high-fiv*ing and dancing.
“This is highly, highly inappropriate,” Swalberg told the Salt Lake Tribune. “This is not what you do at state parks. It’s disturbing and upsetting.”
Hall, who is also a scoutmaster from High*land, said some of their Scouts were jumping on the structures and they noticed a large boulder on top of one structure was loose.
“My conscience won’t let me walk away knowing that kids could die,” Hall said.
While safety was their motivation, Hall said, it was exciting to knock it over, and that’s why they reacted with high-fives and cheers in the video.
“You can’t have a rock the size of a car that you can push with one hand, and have it roll, and not have an adrenaline rush,” Hall said.
Taylor told Salt Lake City news organizations on Thursday that he felt the rock move when he put his hand on it.
He said after he knocked the formation over, he wished he hadn’t and he realized he should have contacted a park ranger. But he also said he feels he did the right thing. Hall, too, said he wished they had contacted a park ranger, but did not regret the action.
Scouts shocked
Boy Scouts of America spokesman Deron Smith confirmed the men are members of the organization, saying in a statement that the organization is “shocked and disappointed by this reprehensible behavior.” Boy Scout troops spend countless hours in state and national parks, guided by the principle of leaving nature the way they find it, Smith said.
Swalberg said State Parks authorities are conducting a criminal investigation.

I guess the latest thing is wordstarhiphop for posting tasteless videos.
I don't think we need to outlaw YouTube, as that would just start the ball rolling, and who knows what all would end up deleted. The 1st amendment is being attacked enough as it is, You can't protest where Secret Service agents are present, and crazy crap like that. Obama would just LOVE to censor YouTube, with all the anti-Obama videos on it.
So a couple of idiots tipped a rock over. They kind of had a point, if it was that easy to tip over, it could well have fell over on someone. People act like these things are forever, when erosion was going to topple it sooner or later anyway.
Had anyone even heard of this rock before the video, it's not like it was a big attraction or anything was it?

Or just go ahead and fill in the Grand Canyon before some more Japanese tourists From One Hung Lo, Kyoto fall over the edge.

No really, has anyone ever heard of this rock, before? Did people travel across country to see it or anything? Seems like much ado over nothing to me. The rock would have fallen sooner or later, erosion or an earthquake or even a high wind would have knocked it over eventually. If as they say, they could feel the rock move when they put their hands on it, it probably wasn't going to last long anyway.
The idiots should have left it alone, and certainly not bragged on YouTube about their "heroic" escapades.
I bet if people were working around the rock, OSHA would probably have demanded that the rock be knocked over before it fell on someone and hurt them.

Nothing like OSHA to ruin an otherwise perfect day. One part of construction I don't miss one bit is dealing with those jazzbos. Sort of like TSA with no planes.
This was vandalism, they brought up the safety crap to try and save themselves. It's like spray painting graffiti on a bathroom partition, who does it really hurt, so next they spray paint graffiti on the side of your new car, who does that really hurt?
There's right and there's wrong, there's respect and there's lack of respect for people, for property and for natural things too.
No gray area.

TMan,
I don't necessarily disagree with you but it isn't up to every tom, dick and harry to push **** over. I don't go to the state forest and see a dying tree and go ahead and cut it down.

Knowing just enough about natural rock formations to not be terminally ignorant, I'd say that one would have survived for a lot longer...certainly beyond my lifetime....if those ignorant assholes hadn't destroyed it.
That "it moved" bit is bullshit. It obviously still had a solid base before the 300#, beer belly jerk repeatedly threw his weight against it.

I'm thinking this is one of those times where something seemed like a good idea at the time but after it was done and they thought about what they did they realized it was a mistake....I'm sorry their actions cast a bad light on the BSA which did the right thing by cutting ties with these gentlemen...
I can see where this would be a very dangerous situation had a bunch of scouts done it and someone had been severly injured or killed and I'm surprised the Park Rangers allow people to get that close to those formations...If you watch the video it really didn't take much effort to push that rock off there so it's a good thing some scouts didn't get there first...
Trust me as an assistant Scout leader I've seen boys go out of their way to try and kill themselves doing stupid stuff in the woods so if they had of done it first somebody would likely have gotten hurt or killed but the leaders should have known better and just have kept the troop away from the area...
