in terms of recoil, how do the the T9 and K9 due in terms of recoil compared to the Sig P239 and the walther PPS? I'm looking for the softest recoiling pistol here out of these. Thanks.

I gotta think that's gonna be your personal decision. Do you have the opportunity to borrow or rent those models for a trial run? I shoot an MK9 and find it a soft shooter yet it jumps out of my BIL's hands. It's individual. Ammo can make a difference too.
I would think you could learn to enjoy shooting any of those pistols mentioned. So go ahead and buy a Kahr. ;). You won't regret it.
Welcome!

I have the two Kahrs in question but not the Sig or Walther. I really can't tell a difference between the K or T. If you have large hands, then the T may be more comfortable for extended range sessions.

The T9's are really nice. If you like the Kahr trigger get the T9. I missed getting one at a gun show NIB for $600. Saw it and walked away to think about it and when I came back it was gone. Like Ripley said also get what fit's your hands better too. A full grip helps recoil.
The Sig has a different trigger if you like that one.

Does anyone have experience with the other pistols?

I don't find the recoil of any 9MM unmanageable. Perceived recoil is in the hand of the gun holder.

What he said...the T's and K's are all steel and real!

I've not shot the T or K series Kahrs, but I will tell you that (for me), my CM40 is more comfortable to shoot than the PPS in 9mm. Granted, I only put one magazine through the PPS, but I did not like it.

I have a Sig 239 and the recoil is pretty soft, but that is relative. I don't have either of the Kahr's your talking about so it's hard for me to compare. I carry my Kahr pm9 more often than any of my other guns, especially in the summer because it's easy to hide.
I guess the main difference is the weight and ability to hide the gun...more importantly the ability to hide the gun. Weight and recoil doesn't usually bother me unless it's causing real physical pain!
I'm a small woman and I think with training, a good holster and gun belt MANY guns are manageable.
However, I also had to switch primary shooting hands because of an injury to my right hand. So I guess you have to define what your body and training is willing to deal with.
For instance, I still shoot right handed, but only 10% of the time so I can still function with it if it's needed and not totally wreck my hand.
Can you be more specific with your question.
PS. The trigger on the Sig. and the Kahr's are totally different. You might consider that in you decisions.
