I bought a CW9 a about a month and a half ago. I made sure to get it past the 200 round break in before I gave it an opinion. I'm happy to say that aside from the slide not always closing when I racked the slide everything has been great. I read the FAQ sayins to always use the slide lock lever to drop the slide and that pretty much cured those issues.

I bought 3 extra 7 round mags off the net and unlike the mag that came with the gun form the factory these will not drop free. So I have 1 mag that came with the gun that does drop free and 3 mags that don't.

I contacted Kahr and they said send in the mags which I did and they gave me 3 replacements that also do not drop free. The only difference I can see is the rear seam on the magazies appare to be different form the one that came in the box with the gun.

I contacted Kahr agian and they offered to have me ship them the gun but I'd rather not be without it for 3 or more weeks and honestly I'm worried that maybe when they fix it, it won't run again so I'm wondering has anyone else experienced the issue that can tell me how to fix it?

I'd want them to drop even if it meant mailing the gun and mags back. Others might tell you not to worry about it. You choose. Are the seams protruding more in the mags that won't drop? Could be the cause and perhaps rubbing just enough. Can some of that material be removed if it is protruding? I apply floor paste wax to my mags and wipe them down good to remove excess. I have 5 mags and all drop from my PM. Send them back and get it taken care of.

That's a bit disconcerting from a reliability stand point to know that the magazines have that amount of inconsistency between them.

As I recall, someone stated that the manual mentions that the mags are made to NOT drop free.
That maybe their out, not something I have checked into though, as I detail/fine tune every gun I own so it functions to MY liking, even if it means some modifications or aftermarket parts are needed.

Most all gunmakers who use metal mags have them made for them as metal forming/stamping/welding equipment is a big investment.
Bending in the lips causes the bulge and I believe is a tooling/tolerance issue.

I don't consider a mag that dosen't drop free to be a reliability issue.

I have a 6 round and a 7 round that drop free in my PM9. Just got another 7 rounder in the mail today that doesn't drop free. I polished mine with Mothers mag wheel polish to help. Figured it wouldn't hurt.
