I played craps for the first time a couple of years ago in Vegas and we are going back in July. I'm hooked on the game.

Ahhh the old craps game, love it, I grew up in a gambling family. For some reason the luck has never been on my side.

I prefer card games, specifically poker and black jack. I don't do as well with the dice, or games of chance for that matter.

It is a very addicting game and is very fun. There is a lot to pay attention too. Alot of things to keep in mind and remember.
I like it I have even won a time or two. I am sure I am not ahead in the long run but have had good rolls and real good rollers.

Best advice I can give you is this: don't make a bet on the pass line that is so large you can't take the odds behind it. Always bet the odds on the pass line, you get the largest payout. I love craps it's fast and exciting. One more thing, if the table is cold don't be afraid to start playing the Don't pass line. I've made a lot of money back from cold tables...just don't be whooping and hollaring cause if you win the shooter lost.

Love the game. Like kahrseye I have made way more money on a cold table playing don't pass then the other way around. Also never make any crazy crapper bets, those are all the bets in the middle of the table.

Well I can absolutely add this to my list of things I know absolutely nothing about. Never seen it in person, always wondered why so many people were jumping up and down all excited. I thought it was only the dice thrower that was doing anything. Guess I lead a much too sheltered life. Don't know how to play cards cept for Old Maid and I think I forgot how to play that. I played the slot machines but not so fun anymore now that you play with a card instead of coins. I did use to be a bingo caller at my kids school in a earlier life so I'm not like totally unenlightened but probably pretty close.
I think I'll study up on this crap thing, it'll be my learning event of the month.

Oooh, sharp stick to the eye and then kick me when I'm down! Uncle, Uncle, you win. Probably a good reason why I don't gamble (other than drinking and fraternizing with women) I'm a loser! I have a bulletin board here at work with all the raffle tickets I've bought over the years, all written with bold felt pen, LOSER! I checked this morning and thus far my 45 hasn't even shipped yet. This is not a good omen. I'm counting on the old good things come to those who wait? But just like that little 7 dwarfs dude, I ain't happy.

Maybe that might be a GOOD thing? Save me waiting twice, course with your curse on me, I'm anticipating at least 4 trips back just to get all the parts in the thing that belong there and then we'll work on trying to make it go bang, maybe I'll have Kahr send it to MagnaPort on the way back to me on one of the return trips, maybe stop by Copper&Black for a polish enroute too. I shoulda bought a Keltec. Do they make a 25, I'm sensitive.

That's too funny...I hope you luck isn't that bad Bawanna.
I wouldn't sweat the wait. When I bought my P45 from them it took about two weeks to ship. Not to mention didn't you buy your gun during their move last weekend?

Yup we're just fine. They did respond quickly to my inquires and everything is on the move. Something was going on last time I bought my last Para from them and there was a delay. I'm cursed but things are on track. That greasy old biker just likes to push my buttons and harass me.
I can't believe I just called Jocko a greasy old biker. Why do I have this strong urge to cut my own tongue out and run it thru the garbage disposal. This can't be good. Hope he ain't a witch doctor in addition to his code talkin. Now I'm getting the urge to poke myself in the eye with a phillips screwdriver, what's up with that?

So are we gonna have a how to play craps thread here or what? I haven't looked yet to see how or what I do to play but it's on my to do list. Guess it would be next to impossible to create on line play. The mob would be on us wanting a cut and I'm already watching my back for a greasy biker any second. Maybe not a good idea.

You worry too much, jocko's old and I'll bet he doesn't move so swiftly anymore, and he'd be coming from the East... still quite a ways to your neck of the woods. I think there might be online craps games, but never looked or had a thought to.

I certainly love playing craps, but I assure you the game does not love me back, not even a little bit. It still was fun to play in Vegas, I just had to stop when mi self imposed betting limit was reached :hurt:.

Well don't tell my fiance's Zena and MX5fan but I'm old too and I know I don't move so swiftly myself anymore. I do have my eye peeled to the East, not much to the west between me and the ocean and I do maintain the high ground so any greasy bikers on the horizon will definitely arrouse my attention. I guess before every greasy biker on kahrtalk comes hunting for me I better admit to being a greasy biker myself. I got a sportster in the garage. I'm sometimes tempted to build a trike or get one of them Can Ams. I actually sat on one at the shop, (I put a paper sack over my head so no one would recognize me) kind of cool but it ain't no freakin Harley! I'm afraid all the real bikers would laugh at me and not wave to me on the highway. Ticks me when they don't wave to me in my van. I sometimes give them the hawaiin good luck sign, especially the ones on rice rockets. Shouldn't talk like this, while I'm ashamed of myself I rode those for many many years too!

I need to build me another one. But yes I resemble that greasy biker bit (upbringin and all). Like I said no worries.

i remember learning how to play craps at a bachlor party many many years ago & thats all it took to get me hooked, fun game to play especially when your at a fun table & everybody is doing well.
it really sucks when you hit a cold table & you love to play, then it's time to revert to playing poker & slowing the burn while still enjoying yourself.

Can't afford it. I'm the definition of a bad gambler: I don't know how to play the game and I really don't like to lose. :o

i guess i look at it in a positive way & you never know when that big run could start, i just hope i'm at the table when it happens.
i've had several nice runs but the fun always comes to a end, also does'nt help when you hear stories from dealers that say 'just last night a guy rolled for 45min & walked away with $10k'

craps?
My Momma taught me to flush it.
But, my Dad was in the Navy for a stint in WWII and he knew a bit about "craps" and "flushes". So, not to disagree with Momma's teaching about the whole crap thing, he taught me about the "flush" thing .... straight flush, royal flush ..... (either I wasn't a good student or he wasn't a good teacher). I don't "play" ;)

Too damn complicated and too damn much to remember...........................it's a young mans game. Just remember, besides keno, your odds of winning are second last. I preferred the video poker machines and blackjack. I could go across the street from our hotel in the morning, and win $50 to 80 bucks on video blackjack every day. Paid for breakfast and lunch.

I sometimes bet the "wrong way' when its cold just to stick around and have a spot when it warms up. But I don't enjoy that so its just marking time. Its fun to play for streaks but I'm pretty conservative: Lowest stakes table. Bet the pass line, back up with odds. When its warm, come bets backed up with odds. If really wild, place 6&8. Nothing else. Keep increasing bets when winning, but also taking money off the table when its hot, leave when 1) lose quota for that time period or 2) a really hot shooter finally craps out or 3) time for show to start.
If I had a good session, I immediately go to the shops and buy expensive presents so I don't lose the money back. Happy wife, happy life.

Played craps back in my Navy days. It's Texas hold 'em now. I'm all in.

I just can't bring myself to do that, always bet with the team & learn to sink with the ship.
It's Texas hold 'em now. I'm all in.
that's another 1of my favorites & that's where I end up after leaving the craps table

Oh yes....I bought my Browning High-Power Practical back in the early '90s, after a several hour hot craps table, bring home a $600+ gain....
What a great night....

Every gambler with tell you how much they've won, but you never hear about how much they've lost? Why is that? Selective memory?

Oh yes...so true...
Many a time a walked up to a craps table and dropped $100-200 in just a few minutes, and walked away...
But I don't keep detailed records...:p

True story at the Sands in Vegas many years ago: Sunday afternoon. I was the shooter at the head of a pretty active table. A new player walks up to the side of the table and tosses down 2 green $25 chips on the hard 8 (a 10:1 bet). The table boss places the bet for him, and on the next roll I toss 2 4's. Among the payouts from that roll, they push him his $500 winnings. He literally holds up his hand and says, "Press it". The table boss looks right at him as says, "Sir, just to confirm for you and the cameras in the ceiling, these are your chips and you can take them now". The player repeats, "Press it." The stick pushes the dice back to me, and I toss another 2 4's. With that, he tossed a green $25 chip to the table boss and asked to get a security guard to escort him and his $5,500 winnings to the Cashier window. Unbelievable. 2 rolls.

I love betting wrong on a cold table. If you know what you are doing you can really profit and laugh at the table turds. I NEVER take the dice and shoot. I let the fools do that .
