Hi I bought a used cw40 last week. Today was the first day I had a chance to take it to the range. I loaded the magazine pulled the slide back and locked it into place loaded the round into the chamber using the slide. Pointed down range pulled the trigger bang. It locked the slide back. I unlocked it (loading another round) bang and again locked the slide. It did this through 24 rounds all with the same results. I am using remington fmj green and white box What is wrong? I took apart and reassembled according to the write up here (including the lube diagram). And help would be greatly appreciated.

It's probably one of two problems. Either your thumb is coming into contact with the slide stop and is pushing up on it, or you didn't re-install the slide stop properly and the spring that pushes the slide stop down is now pushing up on it. In the first case modify your grip. In the second case re-install the slide stop properly. Watch the video on how to disassemble and reassemble you Kahr pistol. This link may also be of help.

Yea I just took it apart and watched the video. The spring was below the release .I'm gonna go back to the range tomorrow and make sure that was the problem. Thank you for your help.

The rounds could be bumping the slide stop. If there is some copper on the part of the SS nearest the bullet it might need to be filed back a bit.
