Very very nice. Thanks for sharing. That isn't the TP that was on gunbroker the last week or so is it. I was watching one there for a bit, kind of lost track.

The TP9 has become my favorite Kahr...even more than the T9 I think. Very enjoyable to shoot. Enjoy your new pistol.

Congrats on the new family member....it's hard to own just one Kahr.
No Bawanna, bought this at a little gun shop in Newberry, Florida. $550., owner said it was used but I couldn't tell. Came with the box, manual and 2 mags.

I like that, maybe I'll have to scrape some shekels together and try that, then repeat in 40 too. Crap, the sickness shows itself again.

All that grip business looks like you have a love/hate relationship with them and that two of them should be traded for models with longer magazines. I would say you don't actually like the polymer grips and would take better to the steel frame models with rubber grips.
Nice 45. :)

But they don't make the steel frame 45's... Believe me I wish they did.

A little late to point this out, but... Bud's carries the TP45 for a very reasonable $449 shipped. They take their time shipping but their prices are pretty good.
Kahr Arms TP45 45ACP 4" Polymer/Stainless for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $449.00 (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_51/products_id/46029)
I'm very tempted.

Yes, but on the .45 ACP with full grip length, all he needs is a rubber sleeve, no extensions. That gun probably isn't very snappy anyway. One could just man up and shoot it as-is. Forget about seat covers. If the grip is actually too slim, benefiting in feel using a sleeve, then the steel frame models again would be better, given some grip options.
I think a T45 is pointless. My compact 1911 conceals better. If the 45 were limited to 6 rounds and the Pao Ferro grips were less bulky, it would be easier to favor over the compact commander 1911. Actually, since compact commanders are so rare, there might actually be a market there. But as a carry gun, the grip pokes out too much, and having only 7+1 rounds doesn't justfify the bulk of the grip. Between the TP45 and any concept of a T45, I would pick the TP45 as fitting my hand better and being more slim and lighter for concealment.
Some might see a T45 as a range gun, but I don't shoot anything just for the sake of shooting except a .22. Everything else is about concealment or competition, or practice for same. A T45 wouldn't fit in there for me. In fact, given the recent acquistion of a P40, which handles beautifully for me, I intend to sell my T40. It has been displaced by my Kimber Compact CDP II, which is an Officer grip on a Commander frame. Given an aluminum frame, it weighs less than the T40, and the grip doesn't poke out as far.
The other point against getting a 45 as merely a shoot 'em up range gun is that ammo is hard to find and relatively expensive, as are reloading supplies. To make sense, a .45 right now would need to be about CCW in my opinion.

I have a P45 that I love, it is not snappy, that was not the point of my comment. I love to shoot the P45, and many others with FAR more snap and pop to them. I can't afford to play as often as I'd like, but I do what I can. If a T45 isn't for you then don't knock one for those of us that might enjoy one, if for no other reason than we can. I also routinely carry a full size all steel 1911, or a 4 inch barreled 357 in the form of a GP100, I carry them IWB at that. I would own a steel frame 45 just because I like it, would I carry it too: Absolf'nlutley. I have no grip extensions on ANY of my pistols, and could care less either way. For the grip changes, my wife likes it, me I could care less. I carry and shoot what I like and what I have proven to myself reliable.

I'd take a steel K45 or maybe MK45 too. That's at least 2 of us and I think the list is much bigger than us. This has come up many times and I'm sure many many folks would like one. Sure 45 is expensive to buy and or load but so is gasoline and hummers are still a hot seller. Don't have to be sensible, although anything 45 is sensible cept maybe my kahr talk handle, that might be senseless. I also consider everyone of my guns a defense gun and also a range gun. Don't have two categories for what miniscule amount that might be worth.

I think a T45 is pointless.
The points you made are mostly valid, however "pointless" only applies if you mistakenly equate the T45 to a 1911 type pistol as both being the same thing. I don't especially like the 1911 system, safeties or trigger as a CCW. I'm not jumping on the T45 bandwagon, but the fact is I'd carry a T45 before I'd carry a 1911 .45 only because it fits the style of action and my overall K.I.S.S. philosophy of carry guns better than a 1911. So there may indeed be a point in looking at a T45.

Discussing the pros and cons of a T45 is entirely appropriate here. Secure your weapons. If you don't agree does not mean I shouldn't have written it.
Anyway, I appreciate ripley16's point about preferring the way the Kahr shoots over other platforms like the 1911.

Agreed, ripley's post was very good, filled with solid and valid points. Two different systems and if the 1911 operation isn't your cup of tea, the T45 could be a great option, also for those who want a large main and a small bug that look and act alot like siblings.

See just like with 1911's they are the same gun, but the beauty is in the details, and the subtle differences. Yes they are different platforms, but... it's all good.
