Zeroed in my HiPoint 4095 carbine with a Red Dot (no magnification) today with the cheapest factory 180 FMJ reloads I could find. Very happy with the 25 yd results. Shot the lower group first and then adjusted elevation. Second group was right on the money.
The 100 yd was just for fun, but hit the paper 15 out of 15 times. Aimed at top of target, so dropped about 6 inches. I think hotter 150 or 165 rounds would shoot flatter.
4095 went bang every time. Had my concealed carry CW40 in my pocket lending moral support. http://cdn.hipointfirearmsforums.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Wonder how it would shoot with a 2-8 scope or different target to aim at with the dot.
What size dot do you have. 4"?? 8"?? Get a black target than is only slightly larger than the dot then turn your dot down to a lowest level you can see. Get the brite fuzziness out of it. Then try 100 yard groups again.
I use red dots for 30+ years but small 2" and 3" dot coverage at 100 yards. I can use a 4" black target and see the black ring around the red dot and then shoot. 3" groups with my couple revolvers I hunt with are practical then. But at a 12" target they can double in side.
The 25 yard shoot look good.

At 100yds the dot is nearly as big as the Dirty Bird target. I would need magnification as well as a smaller dot to do much better at that range. Next range session I'll try at 50yds with the 4" black targets you suggested. Wish I had my young eyes still!

I know a couple people who have the HiPoint 9mm carbines. Ugly a$$ gun, but goes bang every time

My old style 9mm was stolen so I replaced it with a 4595 two years ago. I zeroed my red dot at 25 yards because that's the limit of my indoor range. I'm not a rifle shooter, but I could maintain a three inch group at that distance using the counter as a rest. Neither of the two carbines has ever failed, nor has the HP 9mm pistol I carry in the Prius.
I have trouble regarding something as highly functional as these HiPoint carbines have proven to be as ugly.

As they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The carbines go bang every time, eat anything, accurate within pistol ammo range, take down for cleaning needed only after 1,500 rounds, full set of rails, sling and attachment, made in the USA, lifetime factory unlimited warranty, and easy on the bank account. What's not to love? :biggrin1:

My 995TS is a hoot to shoot. Haven't had a single issue with mine, and I have about 500 rounds through it. My red dot was sighted in at 25 yards too, but accuracy was fine at 50 when I made it to the outdoor range.
You can have your beautiful $800 carbines. Mine functions just fine.
