My favorite triggers:

Pistols: I have two CZ 75s with reworked triggers, almost no take up or overtravel, with CGW parts. I think they have dethroned my 686 as most favorite triggers. They are most fun at the range. The Kahr PMJ9 and a Beretta are my actual defense guns. They are both same pull every time, no safeties, decockers, etc.

Shotgun: My grandfather's old Ithaca 37 trigger is light and really crisp break. I don't know if he did something to it or it is just 60 years of use and maintenance.

Rifle: M1a mentioned elsewhere with match trigger is still my fav rifle trigger.

Yours?

I'm trying to smooth out my CZ P-01 thru use rather than shipping it off. But the more I read about CGW and CZC, I'm pretty tempted. Thinking I'll go the CZC route since CZ-USA puts out a couple of 'stock' guns using their competition hammer. I want my P-01 to remain totally IDPA legal and I think the CGW parts _could_ create a problem with an IDPA club that was more of a stickler for the rules.

After that, definitely my Kahrs. Love 'em for the triggers.

My favorite centerfire pistol trigger has to be the HK USP Elite. The HK match trigger is super clean, resets smoothly and very quickly.

Honorable mentions;
My Beretta 92 Vertec has a nice trigger too. Beretta makes nice triggers, always have.

My Kahr K9 with elite trigger is noticeably better than any of my other Kahrs.

The Daewoo tri-action is a unique trigger. The most fun and cool trigger by far.

My CZ P01 is a custom shop gun and I'll admit that trigger is pretty sweet. I really recommend a trigger job for CZ pistols. But I still like my Kahr triggers best.

The jard 1lb trigger in my ruger 22 , the timney 1 1/2lb in my hunter.
A couple Dan Wesson revolver I have hunted with that have very nice stock a 2lb SA trigger and a retired Taurus 85 with a very slick trigger system you have to shoot to understand. Those are my stand outs but have several others like my wifes apex m&p comp kit and others with home done trigger jobs and a 1911 than a smith did . Kahr have good reliable CC triggers.

I'm a trigger guy.
All my handguns have nice triggers and many have been worked over.

I've got four S&W pre-lock non-MIM revolvers.
All have had professional trigger jobs.
Along with a trigger job, I had an over-travel adjustment screw
added to my 629 44 mag Mountain Gun.
It has the best revolver trigger I've ever experienced.
My 65-3 M&P 3" Heavy Barrel 357 (Special K) comes in a close second.

Autos are the same story.
My USP Tactical 45 factory DA/SA Match trigger is outstanding.
But I had it converted to Match LEM Hybrid with a combination of Light LEM and Match parts.
Now the trigger is ~3.9 lbs and on the moon.
The clouds parted and the angels sang.

Honorable mention goes to my Sig P239 DA/SA with a trigger job and SRT kit added.
And of course the ultra smooth and glassy Kahr MK40 Elite.
The all stainless Kahr just seems to polish itself and get smoother with use.

I asked my gunsmith what could be done to improve the Kahr?
His response was "nothing".
The Elite basically gets worked like from a custom shop before it leaves the factory.
It's my only gun that I've left exactly how I bought it.
Isn't that nice?

CGW has a new hammer out that is round. You would have to ask them if it is IDPA legal. I think that may have been the impetus for it though. It will never work in to be anything like using the CGW parts. The new disconnector virtually eliminates pre and over travel. The parts aren't hard to install yourself either.

My S&W 41 is hands down my best pistol trigger. Proverbial breaking glass, it doesn't move.

My Winchester 52C bolt 22 is even more so.

I was fortunate all my 1911's came with nice triggers. Not too light for carry but real smooth and no slop.

It's my understanding that it's easy on a safety model but near impossible on a decocker. But you might want to confirm that. If you can do it yourself or have a smith do it...great...because they want a ton for the custom shop guns.

It is easier on a safety model. The first one I took apart was a decocker model and it wasn't bad. David at CGW has some tools and punches that really help in the process.

If you want to see shade tree, have me "carve" up a grip for you. :)

You would have not trouble.

Can you make some for a 413 Whistlepoop magnum X model from a drawing in crayon?

I'm hoping for a grown in the tree perfect fit. Can do right?

You da man.

I still gotta MKI set to make for you huh? I'm such a freaking slacker sometimes. Is there snow on the pass, maybe I'll come over and get it tomorrow. Might visit your Sheriff, I need a new job, new location, less violets. More sun, less moss, more bikini's, less muk luks and rain umbrella's. Mostly what I need right now is scotch, about a gallon.

Thanks, will have to check that out. I've watched some videos on replacing the hammer on a CZ decocker. Not sure I'm game for it, but if CGW now has one similar to the stock hammer, and it might pass IDPA muster, I might have to chat w/ CGW.

But it's my understanding that the IDPA rule states that the parts on SSP/ESP guns MUST be on a stock pistol of some kind. Since CZ-USA markets 'as production' a couple of guns on the website w/ the CZC competition hammer, it by default is legal. Not sure, but I think the CZC competition hammer also eliminates a lot of travel...but I might be wrong about that. I think I'd be happy either way, both custom jobs get good reviews. I have already replaced my recoil spring and main spring and those made a WORLD of difference, totally different gun. I imagine more rounds will smooth it out just fine, but I'd really like to eliminate the take up and over travel. We'll see.

I've got a Kidd trigger on my 10/22. Absolutely will not share or jar off. And its in the couple of ounces range. You pull just a little against seemingly nothing, the before you can thing of the rifle firing, its already fired. Totally smooth... you really can't feel the let off, its that light and smooth.

Number two is the trigger on my Kimber of Orgegon "All American Match". That rifle places the right ammo into one hole groups at 50 yards. My factory 50 yard target is in about .2 inches. Yes, .2 inches. They guaranteed them under .250 inches at 50 yards. Totally lives up to its reputation.

I can't carve anything, unless you mean making firewood with a chainsaw. I don't much like splitting that anyway.

Actually, it is a standard, before the MKI. Might be snow on the pass today. There is certainly wind! But, tomorrow should be fine.

Model 10 S&W PPC custom. You would swear that trigger must have roller bearings or such.
Big, hefty and long-ish but the absolute favorite in my collections of new shooters. I have had several women, out shooting for the first time, pick that PPC gun up loaded with lite 148grn wadcutters and shoot palm size groups that left them smiling the rest of the day.
They all want that target and picture of themselves shooting the big gun...

Oddest looking guns (or air guns) I've seen in awhile. See something new every day. Pretty cool.

Nice matching set, do you duel w/ those?

We I was a kid, stupid is as stupid does, we used to bundle up in tons of clothes and shoot at each other w/ BB guns in the winter. Triggers SUCKED on those guns though.

Naw, no dueling to speak ofhttp://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-fc/fence.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
I bought the second one when sources for them were drying up a few years back. There was also some price speculation involved (they were in the $375 price range then, now: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/IZH_46M_Match_Air_Pistol/78)

I imagine most of us were "stupid is as stupid does" when we were kids. I'm not claiming to be any better now.http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-sport022.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
