I see a soldier who began with an attitude toward the cops who were there to help him and met a cop who over-reacted badly.
Two wrongs equaled one busted lip and should have equaled one disciplined cop. Neither is blameless. Only one paid a price.

I saw a mouthy punk who got some sense knocked into him by a cop who had the ability and every right to do so without inflicting any major damage. The kid had it coming and learned the hard way. Tough love from that cop. Good for him.

Just a young punk who had to be taught some manners. ;)

Have you ever wondered who the first person was to ever do anything ... like shave their head ... or use wax to make their mustache turn up? Somebody had to be first ... and so it is with this situation. Things got out of hand because somebody said or did something that then started the ball rolling downhill. By my observation, the comment regarding how long it took for the police to arrive was that starting point. From there, it went downhill pretty fast. It probably didn't have to ... but it did. I see fault on both sides.

I see a future Dentu-Grip customer if he keeps flappin his jaws like that, good thing it was a cop and not a drunk biker or he might not of been able to stand up as quick....

I'm not sure you can believe what the punk kid said about how long it took LE to arrive, nor that it was an instigating circumstance that deserved a disrespectful reaction. The kid was caught in a couple of lies from what I saw, which would make me believe that he lied about the response time. After all, LE was responding to assist the kid and the kid acted out of place. I guess you could say that LE struck the kid first....so that sent the ball rolling. But the reality is that once the kid got knocked down a peg, the situation was under control again and the kid settled down. I would tend to believe he made the call because his mouth got in the way of the guys he made the call on. Literally (he got punched by them) and figuratively (he has a big mouth).
Not being disrespectful to you Rev, but I did not see that the LE was at all out of line at all. He was doing his job and I feel he did it very well. It was probably not his fault even if it did take some time to get to the call. Perhaps the LEO was on another call? Perhaps the local government cut costs and are short staffed in the department? Whatever the case, the LE deserves to be treated respectfully, especially if you make a call expecting them to assist you. A little courtesy goes a long way. The punk kid showed no respect until he got knocked down a peg. The LEO did right. JMO.

Looks like the kid was giving some attitude and got some back. I've seen worse happen over less.

Since we couldn't see everything that happened, I will make an assumption here. The kid was up in the cop's face, you could see how close he was from the video being fuzzed out and I would be willing to bet that he made some kind of contact with the cop. That will automatically get you put on the ground. As far as 45 minutes, well, if the police are on a serious call, a theft call will not be a priority.

What I saw was someone asking for and receiving an attitude adjustment. He learned to respect the officer almost immediately.
