I just got my first AK style rifle and wonder what is a decent optic for it for 100 yards and less? This uses 7.62x39 ammo

Who makes that one Jeepster? I've hankered for some sort of AK but I just don't know nothing about them and want to get a decent one when/if it ever happens.
I do like the 7.62x39 round.

I've always heard Arsenal is the one but there are tons out there I know nothing about. I want wood furniture on mine, I'm old school that way and also I can carve notches.

I know, I know, an ole greenhorn trick.

It is a Custom Saiga converted to AK style. I don't know much about them either, the research I did all looked good with no complaints that I could find. It was converted to also use standard AK mags.

Here is a full picture guy sent me before I got it.

Looks real nice. Just don't wear that flag on your SEAL uniform, I'm sure you got the orders.

I'm anxious to hear how that thing shoots.

:amflag: LOL....I didn't get the flag, just the picture he took before I got the gun.

Congrats on the Saiga:)

I don't have an optic mounted on my AK style rifles, but after some research, these are the red dots I considered for my AR:
Burris Fast Fire
Bushnell TRS-25
Primary Arms Micro Dot or Classic
Vortex Strike Fire or Sparc
Above that price range you are looking at EOTech, MSE, Trijicon, AimPoint, etc.
I ended up going with an AimPoint PRO (Patrol Rifle Optic). I've been pleased with it and think it's an excellent red dot (especially so at it's price point). That said, I really like Leupold's Mark AR MOD 1 Rifle Scope 1.5-4x 20mm Fire Dot scope and may replace the Aimpoint with one.

Greg
