I have a chance to get either one of these and I am leaning towards the CW40 since my wife carries a K40 off duty. I am a soldier she is the cop but I carry a PM45 right now with her. Thinking of the CW40 because my CW45 never failed me like the PM45 did until I got 500 rounds though the gun. $400 for the CW40 with 100 rounds of ammo or $450 for the PM40 with 3 mags is the cost. Recoil I do not like it but I can control it. When I wear suits I carry a P2000sk in 40.

if ur after small "is good" then the PMis the choice, utter than that if ur gonna waste bandcarry, cw willdo fine and work just as good and atad more grip to plus one more round.
that price on the PM40 is a super price IMO.
I would not pre judge a gun based on issue u had with one like it. If that was the case I would have never married a second time. Just sayin:blah:

And if you are recoil sensitive like me, stay away from the CW40!

I have the CW40 with a Hogue Handall Jr grip sleeve installed. I swear I don't understand the big deal about recoil as it's no big deal. Maybe if I ever develop arthritis I will feel different. Love the CW40 and HIGHLY recommend it.

If your not going to haul it around in your pocket get the cw40. Little more grip and longer barrel and sight radius is always goo. Get you and old innertube , 1.75" size and pull a full sized custom trimmed piec on. It offers a better grip and used tubes are free if you can find a bike shop near you.

I'm a PM40 man, but the CW is good too. You will appreciate the compact carry benefits of the PM. That price is fantastic. Be sure it is a shooter so you don't buy a lemon. If you can shoot it first...do it before you buy. If everything checks out...buy that PM.
As far as recoil of the 40, I go with Warbird1's comment above. Quit being a sissy...haha. You'll come to love that 40 soon enough. The PM40 is a little bull dog power house quietly tucked away for when you need it. Not a better carry gun around IMO.

Door Number 3.
My personal choice between a PM40 or CW40 is neither.
I recommend a MK40 Elite.
Following a lengthy break-in, it has been 100% reliable with any JHP.
And the all stainless gun manages recoil nicely.
Particularly with 180 gr sub sonic rounds (Speer GDHP Short Barrel).
It's not as sweet as your SK.
But it's close.
BTW When in business attire, I carry a P2000SK in 357 Sig.

I would tend to agree with this statement. Although, an MK40 would be almost as good. I used to carry a BG 380, and , although, I have never shot an MK40, I do own an MK9, and the difference between the two, in recoil, is definitely very noticeable. If you can adjust to a heavier Kahr, I think you would be much more accurate, and follow up shots would be easier. The price, that's a different story....................

I wouild love a good MK40 and there is one for sale but the owners all want $700 for a MK40. My wife has a K40 and I love that gun but finding a non poly Kahr is like pulling teeth. I am going to trade my PM45 for a Glock 27gen4 because my wife carries a G22 on duty and a K40 off duty. Most of the time I can carryine a HK P2000sk 9mm or a Kahr CW45.

Get the PM40. You'll love to carry it and will carry it more. MK is 50% heavier plus bigger. Good gun but not the PM. Totally different creature.

Hello ffhounddog and welcome to Kahrtalk!!!....My first Kahr was a CW40 and it was a good gun...I was replacing a Ruger LCP for front jeans pocket carry with something more powerful....Found out the CW40 grip was too long and pocket carry didn't work (never could get IWB carry to work for me) so I went looking for something smaller and found a used black PM40 for a great price (man had bought it for his wife but the recoil was more than she could handle) mine had 50 rounds or so through it and I couldn't turn down the price so she now rides in my right front jeans pocket everywhere I go thats legal to carry and has been 100% reliable with anything I feed it...
The price you found was good for both guns especially the PM40 with three mags so it really comes down to how you intend to carry, if you plan on IWB or OWB then the CW is a great choice, longer grip and an extra round but if you're like me and exclusively pocket carry then the PM is the only way to go....Good luck with your choice and Thank You and Your Wife for your Service to our Country....

+1 on that, but I'll add that the PM is still equally good to carry IWB and OWB. I started carrying the PM front pocket until I carried a BG380 front pocket. I found that the PM was bulkier and heavier. I learned it carried better IWB than it did pocket, so I switched...for the most part and carry the BG380 when pocket it necessary. I am a thin 190 and Learned that my pockets are weight sensitive to about 15 oz limit. The PM also has the concealment advantage with the short 5 rd mag; or full grip with the ext 6 rd mag....best of both worlds in one bull dog package. Light, compact, accurate, concealment and power. Nothing else really compares. In a class of its own.
