Nice photos, thank you for posting and like you my CW9 has become my favored carry pistol. It took some time to warm up to the double action trigger. I instantly liked the size, weight and thin compactness of the CW9.

I have been through a range of pistol and revolver designs and had settled on the single action Hi-Power as the pistol I gripped and shot most accurately. I wished for a thin striker fired pistol with a single action trigger. There isn't a safe design without a safety to disengage. I had decided the next pistol needed to be single stack and just draw and pull the trigger. And I like semi-autos better than revolvers.

So I took a chance on the less expensive CW9. Just to see how the package would work for me. At first the trigger seemed to be a stumbling block. As I continued to shoot the pistol I grew to really like the trigger and realized what a total triumph of design is the Kahr pistol. I am so hooked.

Fenderman: Nice pics and congratulations! I got my CW9 last Thursday and really like it. Half way through 200 round break-in with no problems.

I got a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster and this will be my usual method of carry. Have ordered a Galco IWB Stow-N-Go from the Kahr Shop as well.

These are really poor photos of such outstanding pistols. First my Browning Hi-Power Mark III standard deep blue is an amazing pistol. I shot it last Thursday and it is so smooth and accurate. But your Practical Hi-Power is a beautiful pistol. And I want one. You are right about an old and new classic. Thanks for your post and photos. And I have to say I am sorry for hijacking Fenderman's excellent post.

The first pistol I ever bought in 1966 was a Hi-Power. It was my service carry in the Navy for several years. That gun was at my side through two years in Viet Nam. It has some holster wear and a few scratches from being carried daily, but the last time I shot it in the eighties, it ran just fine.

Thanks, Fenderman. I like most pistols, but the Kahr CW9 and BHP are my favorites.

O'Dell, thank you for your service. People did not thank service men properly for fighting in Vietnam. I was not in the service, but my brother served and many of my High school friends. I would love to see a photo and hear more about your BHP.

 How did you get away with carrying a personal weapon while in the Navy?

I was watching a nice Browning double action BDM on this site...but it was snapped up. Looked like a pretty good price.

Sorry, but I just noticed your question and thought better late than never. I was a pilot, and the Navy issued us S&W 38's. I Decided that if I got shot down and had to take on the NV Army, I wanted 13 9mm rounds rather than 6 38's. We could carry personal weapons if we chose to do so, and I bought the HP.
