how many of you guys do the follower modification (changing the angle of the follower) to improve feeding and reliability....even on the 6 round mags????

some have suyccess, some do not, if ur gun is working OK, then leave it alone. At the worst though u can only ruin a follower..

I softened the two edges on the mag catch hole side of the follower and also rounded out the legs of the follower so the spring can ride up inside easier without catching on the square edges. I left the tops alone. Re-working the tops looked sketchy to me. This will raise the "slide lock open when empty" metal tab.

All my mags shoot great.

Has anyone purchased the Promag brand magazine or just the follower?

Will the Promag follower fit in the Kahr Mag for those who do not want a 7 rd mag.?

I'm not a fan of ProMag, but the spring and follower (at least the 9mm version) will work in a Kahr tube:

I think the follower is OK, but don't know if I would trust the spring. I can't remember if the ProMag follower will work with a Kahr spring. I'll have to dig the ProMag out of it's hiding spot to verify it.

I have not experienced any need to do this on my PM. I do understand that it is an issue for some folks. I wouldn't know what to change on the follower to improve feeding and reliability...because it seems to be working fine for me.

totally agree, if it ain'tbroke don't fix it. 99%of all kahrs the mags work like they should, that utter % could be mag related but I tend to think it is sumpin in the gun itself that is causing it.

My suggestion would be if you think it is the mag, then send the magazine back and get a new one and retest. If it continues, then my thoughts would be that it is now sumpin else causing it.

I modified the follower in my CM9 mag to make it work "better" altho it was working fine. First trip out it broke. Ordered a new one, installed it and it works perfect. As per jocko - don't fix it if it ain't broke. Only problem I've had and I caused it!

The seven round promags I bought worked great in my CW9, but the same mags would not fit my CM9.

The Mag follower modifications does seem to work for the p380 pistols. I worked on one that would not load the fully loaded top round when using Speer Gold Dots, even when using the slide stop method as suggested by Kahr. I didn't over do it, just took off a little at a time and it did help a lot with the feeding issues. What was strange was even with the miscreant rounds, as you emptied the magazine the problem went away after the third or so round in the magazine.

After doing a few magazines it would load from the slide stop or a vigorous hand over racking method. I teach that hand rack method to students as it is part of clearing a jam when executing the tap / rack drill.

There is a sticky on the procedure here at the site.
