Why is it that I find most k9/k40's have nickel plated slide stops. I have one that is new, made in the later half of 2012.
I've looked at many pictures on the internet and they all have the same look.
I fuctions fine, but the color difference bothers me.
Do they make a plain stainless slide stop? ... My mk40 is stainless.

I've found that the pin on the PM series slide stop is nickle plated, while the lever itself is stainless. After I reshaped my slide stops, I ground glass blasted them, which removed the nickle.... and the metal darkened considerably with a little use. They're not actually rusing, but they've turned dark like a high carbon knife blade does.

Just looked at my K40 and the slide stop sure looks to be stainless like the rest of the slide/frame. Didn't pull it out to look at the pin part of it, though.

I am under the impression we are talkingabout the lever not the pin, which according to CJB is nickel plated. Kahr always calls the P series pin "high proprietary steel" what ever in the fokk that means. to me it just would not make alot of sense to niklel plate the lever when the slides are matt finish stainless. Just sayin
