confession time

OK guys, I have a confession to make. Several months ago in a weak moment I sold my T9 to a friend. I liked everything about it but wanted some other gun so I made the deal. I have since regretted the deed. Seems it always happens that way right. Anyway I asked my friend to give me first chance should he decide to sell. I started looking for one on all the auction and for sale sites. Man they are really hard to find. I was unaware how rare they are.
Now some good news. I found a LNIB T40 with seven mags for sale. I made contact with the seller and we made a deal. I don't have any 40s in my collection but this looks like a very nice one to add. Any thoughts? Will I like the 40 cal. after being used to shooting 9mm? How is the recoil in the T40?:amflag:

Recoil is fairly snappy with the .40S&W. If it's too much for you to handle you can always sell it or have it ported. I can handle the recoil, but prefer to shoot the 9MM. The 9MM is a lot less expensive to shoot.

Forty is my favorite caliber to shoot.........I don't shoot it out of a Kahr, but I'm sure you'll like it. I don't feel that much difference between the two.......some do.

You will definitely know you are not shooting 9mm. I ordered the ported barrel for my CW40. That helped tame it down a little. The T40 weighs a bit more than the CW40, so the extra weight should help some. I don't find it uncomfortable to shoot, but I also shoot .44 and .357 magnums, and am not very recoil sensitive. I added the ported barrel to help with the muzzle flip and quicker double taps.

Well, I do shoot some .38 from my revolvers and sometimes shoot .357 also. I will see how it does. The extra weight of a T series should help some. I'm kicking myself for ever selling that T9 though.

I think the T40 should be a great combination. The recoil is brisk but tolerable in my K40. The the larger size, weight etc of the T I think it would be a great match.

I've wanted a T forever myself. Only seen one in person ever. It felt awesome in my hand and the guy at the show let me hold it a very long time. I didn't want to put it back down.

I wouldn't hesitate a second on a T40 if I had the marbles.

40 while perhaps a little more was easier to find when all the 9, 45, and 22 suddenly dried up.

I gave some thought to the ammo crisis too. You could find some 40 cal. when there was no 9mm to be had. So in that regard having a .40 would be a good thing. :D

Prediction: you will love it. I bought my K40 as an alternative when 9mm became scarce. I am a convert. It's not too much to handle after a little practice. FYI: 165gr ammo seems to be a little more accurate out of a Kahr...from my experience. I'll be shooting a Browning HiPower in 40sw next IDPA season. In fact that T40 of yours might make a good IDPA gun.

Now you should start looking for an MK9.

Interesting you should mention the Hi Power. That is what I traded even for the T40. Mine was a 88 model in 9mm. A beautiful gun but I never shot it much.

I would have had a hard time letting that HiPower go but that T40 is a prize!

The Hi Power was nice. But I am hunting for a "T" model Hi Power . When I find one like I want then it will be a keeper for sure. I have a friend who has one from the 60s and it still looks brand new. He won't part with it though.

Just remembered that I had order a 3 pk of 5# striker springs when I changed my K9 over. The T40 slide uses the same striker spring correct? My K9 trigger is sweet with this mod installed , so I plan to do the same thing with the T40 when it gets here. Should have it next week sometime.

I have a CW40 along with 40's of 3 other brands. I don't find any big deal with the recoil. I also shoot 45 ACP, 45 Colt and 357 Magnum. I also enjoy shooting 9mm and .380. Recoil is really overblown as far as I am concerned. Did I say I love my CW40? Yep...sure do. Oh and I am 61.

Warbird, thanks for the heads up. If you don't have a problem with .40 in the CW I think the T40 should be easy to shoot. :)

I have a T40. I think the weight tames the .40 loads recoil to make it a nice shooting gun. Recoil is different for everyone. If I wanted none all I would shoot would be .22. I do find myself fatuging faster with .40 than 9mm. If I just shoot .40 I find myself getting shakey after about 70 rounds. What I do is shoot about 30 rounds of .40 then switch to my 9mm for a while and switch back to the .40 for another 30 rounds and continue doing this and I can shoot all day and stay accurate. I usally sprinkle in some .380 also. I stop shooting .40 when I start getting inaccurate because it seems like I'm just burning ammo at that point.

I hope you enjoy your T40 as much as I do mine.
