Picked this up used a few weeks ago, and didnt know there was such a thing.
but now I cant find enough info on the covert to know the difference. I gather it is capacity
My pistol is 6+1, but the mag is extended a bit I guess.
I can get a better pic if need be.
Not that it really matters, just curious more than anything.

No link, I've used it before but I have changed browsers since then. Eh, at any rate, take a ruler to it and check the specs on Kahr's site. I do believe that the stock P40 comes with a 7 round magazine. From what I read here you may indeed have a covert.

I think from what I see that you may indeed have a covert. Nice work.

After doing some more searching I came up with an idea. I counted the lines of stippling on the front of the grip.
Covert has 10 lines.
My pistol has 13 lines. I think my pistol is a regular P40.
No matter, I love it either way :D. Just was curious

Hmmm, that might work too. As long as it shoots, and you like it and give it a loving home, then like jocko says, shoot it like you stole it.

No worries, wish I could have told you a little more definitively.

Here is a Covert link (http://www.kahr.com/PA-1B/review_combat_1198.html)from the Kahr site.
"6+1" sounds like P40, not Covert. Only the extended mag (of the Covert or PM40) takes 6 of the .40 SW rounds.
