Hi folks. I recently purchased a PM40 as my EDC and I love this firearm. I've put about 300 rds downrange and with eash session the guns handles better and better. The only issue I've had with range ammo has been that the first round doesn't like to chamber very easily. My SD ammo has no problem so I'll just contribute it to the design of the ammo.
I'm going to hang low for a while and use the search function for a lot of my questions.
Cheers. :)

Welcome, dont hang low, jump right in. Alot of times bringing up old questions is a good refresher for all of us. Not to say that the search engine isn't a wonderful thing, lots of good stuff. Pretty good chance whatever you experience, someone here has already been there, probably several times over. AND we can learn from you just as well. Glad your here.

Welcome, DocKahr. I'll put a link here about the PM45 and recent problems that may be affecting the first round loading. What I call the "stripper" needing to be beveled and the stripper bar could be polished to facilitate sliding over the magazine cartridges. I know some CW40 guy(s) have beveled their own strippers and solved the first round feed problems. On recoil, the slide goes all the way to the rear and the stripper gets behind the top cartridge in the magazine.
Look at the pictures of the "stripper":

I was trying to add a bit of humor, but the tips are good and something that you can check and adjust yourself.

aboard, u did not mention if that first round was being loaded by manual racking of the slide or using the slide lock release.
You might want to go to the kahr tech section and hit on the PROPER PREPPING OF YOUR NEW KAHR. Might answer some of your upcoming questions. Nice gun you got. If ur manually racking, then that is your issue if ur using the slide lock lever, then more rounds might just solve ur issues to..
