So my dad just called me sayin he found a PM45 used with 3 mags at a LGS for $525!!!
I told him to get it ASAP!!!
I have a CW45.
Is there anything to look for on it?
How can he find out how old it is? To judge the life of the night sights.

I'd just look like I do any other gun for signs of abuse or neglect. No way other than how bright they look now to determine how old the night sights are.
I don't have a formula to determine how old it would be either but I wouldn't be too terribly concerned about that either. They don't really wear out.

He said he saw it there a few months ago for $700 and today it was $600. I had the store call the owner for the bottom $ and he said $525.

I'd not wait any longer. I think it's time to move on that one.

that's a great price, I was trying to sell mine for $500 without NS and only two mags.

Well he bought it.
He said he took it to the range the other day and he was having a lot of failure to feeds. He said the slide wasn't even catching the next round. At the time he didn't try but I said to try a different mag and bring multiple types of ammo.
My guess is the spring is worn or the follower is stickin in the mag.

I'd say the pick up rail is probably not beveled and the rounds in the mag are getting stuck under instead of sliding up in front.
It's an easy fix and it might be why the guy traded it off.
There's a thread here about the notch and the bevel.
Still all good.
