Today was a good day. I am recovering quickly from my surgery 9 days ago. I felt good enough to ride down on my property with my new Ruger 10/22 Takedown. I shot a little over 100 rounds without one failure... right out of the box. I always clean and lube before the first time out, but I was lazy (for good reason), so I just looked it over and made sure the action felt fine. This is a fun and accurate rifle!

I'll post some photos next.

I think that was about 20 yards.
I sat on the foot rest and used the bag and the ATV seat as a bench rest. Not an ideal bench, but 10 shots and the group is tight side to side. I just need to adjust the iron sight down and to the right a little and I'll be right on the bull every time!

It was a year ago I was asking you all about the Henry survival rifle, but many of you suggested to stick with the Ruger Takedown. Even though it doesn't break down as small as the Henry, I'm glad I went with the Ruger. Thanks everyone for your feedback so long ago.

You can find 22 around here, just not in large quantity. I had about 2000 rounds before the panic and later bought another 1000 (at $.10 per round) from a gun store that had a 100 round limit... I convinced him to increase the limit for me because I was buying a 1911 and a 22 conversion kit at the same time (otherwise I would buy elsewhere).

You can also find some deals on gunbot.net, but watch out for shipping (sometimes it kills the price).

Nice! I love my .22's. I've been lucky with finding ammo locally. Been in the right place a few times and have found enough Federal bulk and CCI. Seems to slowly be coming down in price but it ain't where it should be yet.
