I just bought a PM45 that has the stock length recoil assembly and springs. I saw on the Kahr web site they are selling a recoil assembly new style that is a little longer than stock. Will the new style (.125 longer assembly) enhance the functionality of my handgun?

Hi Casper, no it is for the newer style slide...You must have the older blunt nose pistol which uses a shorter by a few coils recoil spring....Welcome to Kahrtalk by the way....Be sure to ask for Jocko next time, he gets upset if we don't mention him....He barks but don't bite (has no teeth) smells like a goat but is really smart about Kahr stuff....He'll be along directly....:D

******* is right, I mean getsome. sorry about that.U have the new style guide rod assembly in ur new kahr , so order it that way. IMO ur recoil assembly should be good to go for 1500-2000 rounds easily. I would saay though once u get the gun broken in and it is serving your well, then indeed get a spare set and have um ready to go. Alot of times the gu itself will let you know whan it is time to change springs.
Please do read the kahr tech section ahd hit on the propper prepping thread, there are some nice tips in there to make that first shoot a good one. IMO don't ry to rusn 200 rounds throuh in one session either. Give the gun and shooter time to mate up right.
Normally getsome is very wise to ask about things to, "NORMALLY'. He voted for ovomit by the way, so he is still on probation on this forum until he hits 3k IN POSTS. jUST SAYIN

Thanks all, I should have mentioned it was a used pistol not new. When did they come out with the updated PM45.
I shot 5 rounds of brass Blazer thru it and most jammed loading and ejecting? Later after some advice from Acasper78 I disassembled the gun cleaned it and the 3 clips that came with it. Cleaned the spring, etc. It appeared to load/eject fine. One clip had a spring that doubled up on itself-that clip still doesn't load or eject well. I assume new springs for all of them (all Kahr clips). I also read some of gb6491 fixes for jams.
I like the pistol, I have to fix the issues.

Sorry casper, We got off track...happens sometimes here as we like to cut up with each other and have fun but back to your issue...Like Jocko said do read the sticky's in the new member forum...Lots and lots of good useful info there....If you have a manual be sure and read it all because kahr's are a little different than many other semi auto pistols you may be used to.....If you don't have a manual you can download one here....
Since you have a used pistol with unknown round count it would be a good idea to order a new recoil spring assembly and see if that corrects the feed issues....The magazines should get new springs too as many if not most semi auto feed problems are really due to magazine problems....
The magazine springs only install one way and there is a picture in the manual of how they go, I'd check that one magazine causing problems to see if the spring might have been installed backwards....While you are ordering new magazine springs I believe you can get both the spring and a new follower with one part number....New recoil spring, new mag springs and followers and a good cleaning/lube and I bet it will shoot like a brand new one....Good luck and let us know...
