I just purchased an older model PM45. I disassembled and cleaned the clips that came with the pistol- I was getting some jams. Aft I cleaned everything I feed 6 live rounds thru it, they loaded and ejected fine but I noticed on some of the ejected casings a very small notch cut on the outside edge of the rear outer lip . Is this typical?

It's not uncommon to mar a case when ejecting unfired rounds from many semiautomatic firearms. The heavier unfired round will hit the ejector harder which can mark the rim. Also, the extra weight and longer length of an unfired round make it more difficult to kick off the extractor: this can lead to a sharp extractor cutting the rim some.

Greg

Thanks I wanted to be sure there wasn't anything wrong with the ejector.

My CM9 does this to every round I fire through it.

Doesn't the owners manual state this can happen? I seem to remember reading this was perfectly normal some place...perhaps it was numerous times on this forum????

Not really. His question was already answered and I was asking if it was in the manual. Being new to the forum, he would not have read all the prior threads.

A$#@%Casper: As to your insulting comment.... My post was not directed at Casper, or I would have quoted him. His post was already answered. My post was a general question, because I remembered reading about dented casings and could have swore it was in the operator manual. I looked at my operator manual and could not find the info on dented casings, but I remember reading it someplace...like I said, probably in the numerous posts on the forum. I could have swore it was in the operator manual too. Guess I'm a "senile" now. Oh well...who's the douche?

Sounds like you might be trying to be that other kind of member by your reply. Forget it. I have that other kind of member title sewed up. :)
