Went out after lunch yesterday. Shot the S&W M&P 9mm full size and compact, Henry .22 rifle and my trusty Kahr CM9.

I love my Kahr. Its my favorite compact pistol. Zero failures in 200 rounds. I was getting decent groups at 10, 15 and even 20 yds. The M&P's functioned flawlessly as well, especially the full size. But for everyday carry, its the Kahr.

I definitely need some brighter sights as my eyes are getting older. When aiming taking my time, the stock sights are OK. Just OK. Lining up at speed was challenging to say the least. Just don't get the quick sight picture.

Been looking at the Dawson Precision tritiums. Almost bought some last spring but decided to wait. Should I go full boat with front and rear or is the front sight really only necessary? Also anybody know the standard height of the stock front sight on the CM9?

Oh yeah, I put the Butler Creek LULA speed loader on the Christmas list. A must have. My fingers are really sore!

Stick with a bright (FO) front and a flat black rear. You can see it great and it is very fast.

I believe you can look up the standard sight height on the Dawson site. If not, Kahr will have it. Just email them or look it up.

By the way, maybe it's time for glasses....haha. (Speed loader for a 9?...haha. joking with ya.)

I have never really bonded with the sights on my PM9. I told myself this morning to just go ahead and get the XS Big Dots. I have them on a couple of other pistols and they are fast to pick up, tougher than fiber optic and night sights as well.

My $.02

WOW. Those XS big dots look nice. Wonder how much of a pita they are to install?

I think they are all about the same to install. On the CM9, the front one is easy. The rear just takes a sight pusher.

I love the LULA, but beware; it is a costly piece of kit. It makes loading so fast and easy that you'll be shooting way more ammo than before.
