The first trip took 21 days but this time only 17. Arrived at my door about an hour ago. Paperwork says: "NM replaced slide stop spring, reworked barrel, tested ok."
Once again, we shall see. Wish they would detail what they mean by "reworked barrel." I suspect that's code for "polished ramp." If someone knows different please enlighten me. God willing and the creek don't rise, I plan to take it to the range friday. I will be testing both this and my new Beretta Nano. I will post Youtube videos for both.

maybe also modified the feed ramp to eliminate any busted followers. I'm guessin also. If it works OK, don't worry about it..

when I sent my p380 back I asked if the gunsmith would call when the gun was finished. He called and left a return phone # so I was able to call him directly and ask about my gun fix.

That's very unusual right there. Smiths usually don't like to write or talk on the phone, they like to smith and move on.
That's why work orders usually say fixed it, tested good. The end.

The people at kahr have always been very helpful when ever I would call .The gunsmith seemed more than happy to talk and explain the work he did on my gun.

My local smith always writes a book about every repair. It's kinda nice. But I agree: as long as it works......let's go shootin'.

When I apprenticed under a master gunsmith in Hampton, VA in the 1980s, we always explained to the owner what we did to his gun and why. We showed them all parts we replaced and explained why we replaced them. This was also detailed on his invoice. That way if the gun broke again we both had a record of what was done so we would know if it was related to our work/parts. Did the same when I was in gunsmithing school in Colorado. It wouldn't have taken the Kahr smith significantly longer to write 3 lines of detail as it did 1.

I'm afraid there won't be any final range video. I have a table at this weekend's gunshow and I didn't have a chance to take it to the range beforehand. The Kahr was the first thing that sold today. I made sure to explain the whole story to the buyer and showed him all the Kahr paperwork as well as directed him to my youtube videos on it. Let him have it with the 3 extra mags for $300 and both of us were happy.

Sounds like you both left happy, so good deal. My gut feeling is that the buyer got a pretty good price on a very good pistol.
Have you had a chance to take that Nano to the range yet? I'm curious to see how that works out for you.
Thanks
Chuck

between the weather, Christmas stuff, the gun show and life in general, I haven't made it to the range with the Nano yet. I hope to get that done beore Christmas and will post the video when I do.

I had to send my new CW9 back to Kahr recently because it started dropping magazines under recoil. I sent the two factory magazines along with the pistol for them to troubleshoot against.
I got the pistol back almost two weeks to the day I sent it off. The repair sheet stated that they had replaced the magazine catch and the magazine followers. I immediately went to the range and put 150 trouble free rounds through it. When I broke the CW9 down to clean it I noticed that Kahr had also spent a good bit of time working on the feed ramp and breech face. They polished those areas up to the point that they look like they are chromed. Strange, because I never had any feed problems beyond a few hiccups during the first 50 round break-in session and I said nothing to Kahr regarding feed issues, good or bad. Perhaps they just take this step on all pistols returned for service, regardless of the reason they were sent back.
