Hello. I just bought a NIB P380 California model. Serial # RC3xxx
I have read on here that certain earlier production date had issues that required sending back to Kahr.
Which date codes fall under that catagory?
Thank you.

Thanks. What was the reason for repair if I may ask?

After 500 rounds the spent brass would hit me in the face and the slide would not lock back on the last round. They replaced the barrel ,extractor, recoil springs and mag. spring. I have only been able to put 1 mag. through the gun since I got it back but so far everything seems fine.

Cloud, did you have any problems leading up to the 500 round count?

I had a couple minor problems during the initial break - in, but they worked there way out with more rounds. Really no problems in the last 400 rounds. I thought it was a good reliable edc gun. And after I get a chance to put more rounds through the gun I'm sure I will think the same.

Does anyone know which date
Codes were the ones that had problems that had to be sent in? I read somewhere here that Kahr had some issues with
Earlier production
Runs.
What year were the RC codes
Were
Manufacturered?

Just took possession of my p380 the other day and took it out today and put 94 rounds.
So far no unexpected failures. I purposely limp wristed just to see how loose of a grip I can get until I got it to jam. Other than that, I had 2 failures to lock back on last round but I think it may be my thumb touching the lever.
All in all, I am pleased.

I recently picked up a "never fired" P380 with an RA5XXX serial. What can I expect and about how old is it? Haven't shot it yet, but probably will run 50 or 100 rounds thru it tomorrow with some Remington 95g FMJ and some XTP rounds.
I have several of these micros pistols and none has been perfect so far, but none all that bad either. My first impression is pretty good, but what's with that bulging at the front of the frame...
Tnx.

I think you have an earlier model being that ones that are currently selling are RC and RD.
That bulging in the frame seems to be common in Kahrs. Theres even another thread about recently below but on a different gun.

yup he does but at least it is over 5K units made though, so he should be OK, Mine is RA 3 digits. Had to go back once but now is super fine.
My theories on the buldging of the frame stuff which is on ost every poly kahr. is that they made it that way that for some reason ur grabbing up in that area during a shoot that your not gonna as "easily " be grabbing on the slide itself and mabye hindering functioning. IT IS NORMAL ON KAHRS SO THINK NUTTING BOUT IT.:amflag:
