I agree it's an interesting concept and looks well done. For fifty bucks I kinda want one, just because.
Now, if only it didn't make my 1911 look and feel like a Glock...

Ingenious idea, I bet they sell a ton. Won't sell any to me, not appealing to me but there's a market for that.

Sounds like the founder knows his weapons. Pretty slick stuff.

I'm pretty happy with the way my SA 1911 Mil-Spec is, pretty much what ol' JMB meant for it to be. But I can see a market out there for the youngsters.

I like the "before".

That is clever. I have a couple of pistols with rails and haven't found anything I want to put on them yet. But I am sure there are plenty of folks who like rails. Yankee ingenuity for sure.

Clever idea, but I'm sorry, that is blasphemy.

Dang! You guys had me going for a second. You're talking about a gun with a rail... not a Rail Gun... the electromagnetically accelerated slug gun with hyper velocity.
That add-on thingy doesn't get rid of any weight... just adds to the heavy all metal one!

(soft chuckle) I wondered if that title would cause any confusion when I posted it Wynn. Here's a little something to make amends:

I thought the same thing when I read the title, though I did click on the link to see what it really was.
I'd take a rail gun, in the above true rail gun fashion, in a 1911 in a heart beat!

I like that Colt the way it is, BUT, that is a cool idea to breathe some new life into some cheap old 1911.

It's a very clever idea, I can see it as a useful tool. Looks like it could use some grip tape for traction though.

Posted the link on M1911 Forum and it got torn to pieces as the
"Worst 1911 Accessory Ever!"
Some questions were also raised as to if it would really work with as many makes of 1911's as claimed (given the differences in trigger guard shapes/dimensions) and how securely it really fits. Also mentioned were holster issues (Fobus apparently makes 1 that will work, and if you make your own, it's a non-issue)
As I said on that forum, I like the idea, though can't say how secure it will be, but for someone who likes 1911's, want's/like's the idea of a rail mounted light and can't afford to spend a bunch of money on a railed 1911 but has a 1911 already, it's a good option (if it works as advertised) especially for a nightstand gun (imho)

Reminds me of the fender skirts on my 57 Ford. Totally worthless. Kinda like puttin' new shoes on an old war horse. Yuck.

Unbelievable. What ever happened to KISS: keep it simple stupid? Just add a Novak rail and your done. At least the Novak part doesn't look too out of place with the classic 1911 lines. Would you dress-up Gram in yoga pants? Hmm, maybe that's not a good analogy.:D

I wouldn't remove my Bawanna fouled anchor grips if they paid me $50. :)
