After owning a CW9 and later a Glock 19 I am suprised that I prefer the CW9 for CCW. Has anyone else had a similar experiance?

Not really. I've been carrying my P9 with the Kahr ported barrel most of the time and will resume carrying my Mag-na-ported P40 after I sort out the night sights. I have a G23C that I have CC'd once... to a gun show, looking for accessories. It was too big for my comfort... even with an oversized untucked polo. I also have a G19 Gen 4 that about the same size as the G23C.

I have the PM9... my first polymer pistol, a P380... my favorite around home, and a PM45 that I prefer to carry at night. I have no problem comfortably carrying the polymer Kahrs. I do carry a "high capacity" Kahr magazine as a reload as the Kahrs don't hold but half as much as the Glocks.

I don't find that surprising at all. Both are fine pistols, but the difference in width makes the CW9 much more comfortable for everyday carry.

I carry a Glock, mostly a 26 but I do carry a 19 on occasion. Sure the Kahr is slimmer and thus easier to conceal and more comfortable. But honestly I have no problems hiding a G26, and a gun should be comforting, not comfortable. Plus I shoot the Glock 10 times better. That's me. YMMV.

I prefer the act of carrying my kahr simply because it is more comfort, but I trust my Glock way more and it's a 26, not bad to carry either

Thank you for the replays and comments. I must admit that I often switch to the G19 in the evening. It is a very comforting pistol to carry. When I have the Kahr CW9 holstered I carry one or two spare Magazines. I normally don't when I carry the G19.

Yes, my PM9 replaced most of my G26 carry [and .380 for that matter]. Sold the G26 and put the money towards an XDM 3.8 .45 ACP figuring that I'd carry the 45 those times when I might have carried the G26 which except for capacity wasn't much of a jump up from my PM9. So now my 3 carries are in .380, 9mm and 45 ACP with the PM9 far and away getting the most carry time.

Not a problem for me. I don't like Glocks, don't shoot them well, and find them uncomfortable. For those reasons, I don't own a Glock, have never owned one, and have no intention of obtaining one.

I carry only kahrs but love all kind of pistols and revolvers. Glocks are a little large for me even with the new gen 4 grips but shoot them as well as most others and prefer greatly the M&P line as a double stack pistol but I still carry kahrs for CC . Now if the end of the world was coming soon I would go to the general store and pick up a glock 19.

I went from carrying a double stack mag .40, to a Kahr CW40, and I really appreciate how light and comfortable the CW40 is to wear. Since then I've acquired a Boberg 9mm, and it's become my grab and go gun. It's small size, about like a PM9, makes it very handy, and the Remora holster can be worn in a variety of positions. Lately I've been wearing it at about 10:00-11:00, just to the left of my zipper. I'll have to give you an update on the Boberg after owning it for 1 year.

Here in Indiana we can carry concealed or open, it is up to the license holder. I'm a fairly big guy. 6 foot 2 and 200+ pounds. I used to carry my Glock 17 concealed. But now I'm carrying the CW45(followed break in procedures with no issues after 500 rounds).I know the G19 and G17 are completely different in size but it is all about balancing comfort with effectiveness of the cartridge and for me the CW45 won hands down for those 2 reasons.

I just think the G19 has tobe Glocks best seller and has been since the day they introduced it. course our state boys allcarry G17.

Two different categories of gun. The Kahr is a concealment gun that is easily carried. The Glock is a holster carry gun that can be concealed, big difference.

I prefer my CW9 for CCW over anything previously. Fits the bill and a spare mag is no big deal.

I owned a G-19 for many years, was a fine pistol. It was a little too big for a CCW for me so I used a P9 for a CCW. Last year I began to get a little arthritis in my hands and could not shoot the G-19 without pain so I traded it off for a CW-9. I could not find another P9 at the time so I thought the CW-9 would be good since the mags would interchange and I would be able to tell the difference between the two in the dark in case of an emergency. The P9 is a tad more accurate, but either one will do what is necessary if the need arises. I guess you can call me a "Two Kahr Guy". ;)

I've got to vote CW9 also. The slim frame is so much easier and comfortable than the glock. I love the G19 but for a carry piece its Kahr for me. Personally I carry the CW9 which is in my opinion the best balance between accuracy, firepower, and ease of carry. I'm looking forward to switching to my P9 covert though as soon as she gets back with her new night sights.

I don't care for any gun with a double stack magazine, because I have small hands. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with a Glock for those who like them. I carry a Kahr CM9, because it is 100% reliable, easy to conceal and comfortable to carry. You can't ask for much more than that.

For EDC I prefer the CW9 due to slim and less weight. I have carried the Glock 19 on many occasions(prefer the Glock 26) and carries well but is certainly a thicker and heaviergun. No comparison, in my opinion, onwhich one I would prefer to have (Glock 19) if I needed it, but CW9 issomething I just won't leave at home. Almost not fair to compare the two because I really don't think they areapples to apple, but I do understand the question. For me the key elements thatmake a pistol easier to carry all day are; lighter, shorter height (length nota big issue), and slimmer. CW9 winsbased on that "all day".

u answered ur own question to. both great guns but I bet the G19 will sit home more now to over the cw9. I love my G19 have said many times it is my best shooter. That beinsaid it is my home gun onlyt. I never carry it as my pMJ9 is wit me24/7 in my pocket. That my friend is the real difference of a defense gun. If it ain't on y, then it ain't a defence gun.. Down here in the South, casual concealed carry is often dictated by the weather. On hot days when I'm wearing very light clothing and I'm just out and about doing regular activities in areas I perceive as 'low threat' I'll carry a small .380 in a pocket holster.

When I find myself heading into areas that are more 'sporting' (like downtown Atlanta) I will, as Evan Marshall says, "dress around the gun" and carry a Glock 26. I shoot the G26 extremely well and have full confidence in its reliability and accuracy. The Glock trigger may not be the best but it isn't as bad as most people gripe about, has excellent consistency and a very short reset.

So why my interest in the CW9? Frankly I was taken in by the ergonomics and the trigger. Plus, I was interested in a slimmer, single stack design, perhaps as a bridge between my .380 and the G26. I'm on my second CW9. The first, an early production model, was utterly unreliable and got sold off fast (and with full disclosure to the buyer). I cooled my jets for a few years and then came back and reevaluated the CW line. My sources - gun retailers that I trust - told me that the return rate today for the CW line was no worse than that for any other small frame polymer pistol. I took the plunge again and am once again carrying and evaluating the CW9. While this new pistol has also had reliability problems (dropping magazines) Kahr seems to have fixed the issue after a quick return to the factory. After I put another 100 rounds through the pistol as a reliability check I'll start putting it into my concealed carry rotation.

Is it better than the G26? No. While the CW9 offers better ergonomics and a better trigger, the G26 has proven to be an utterly reliable and extremely accurate pistol. How reliable? Out of the box and with no modifications or 'fluffs 'n buffs' I've put over 4,000 rounds of mixed 9mm loads through it without one single malfunction. Reliablility is the #1 prerequisite for a concealed carry/combat pistol. My CW9 may yet prove to be as reliable as my G26, but it's not there yet.
