I just wanted to publicly thank Joko (and other forumites) for their Prep Thread (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521). After I got my new CW380 I followed these tips and suggestions and it was a breeze. I heartily recommend this as a 2nd read, right after the owners manual.

I was amazed at the amount of crud, grime and crap left inside this fine little jewel after the manufacturing process. It looks like they were assembled on the dirt floor of a junk yard under a 20 watt bulb. Pretty pitiful that they can't deliver a gun that is clean and ready to run. Oh well, at least its cleaned, prepped and ready to go now thanks to ole Joko! This may soon become one of my favorites tagalongs after break in.

If for no other reason I think the new gun should be checked and cleaned. But, I will say I've two new Kahrs and both of them were well oiled and CLEAN. Still glad I checked, you never know.

I agree 100%. IME my Ruger's, Glock's, Springfields, Taurus', etc... have never had this amount of crud inside them when they were inspected and cleaned prior to the first trip to the range. The manufacturing debris, dirt and filth inside my CW380 was certainly not what I was expecting to find.

I sell guns at a local retailer. Most need a good cleaning prior to use. Unless you tell your customers, most won't do it.

I would add that owners manuals don't tell them to.

Had my first range experience yesterday and the CW380 ran 100% flawless! Compared to shooting my TCP 380 the CW was such a joy to shoot. It seemed to shoot low. Has anyone else noticed this?

My cw380 is more accurate than I am. You should try firing from a bench to see if it is you or the gun. I need to do some more dry firing to work on my trigger control, im used to shooting my g19 and the triggers are completely different. Honestly the cw380 isn't a target gun though, its made for doing a mag dump..... fast, dirty and close.
