I ordered some springs from Wolff for some of my toys, one of which was their #5 striker spring.
I bought a case of Golden Sabers and wanted to give them a try. Racked the slide, pulled the trigger and nothing. Tried it 3 more times and the same result, click.
By this time, I wasn't even thinking about the new spring, just thinking "OK, now what"? Put the old spring back in and yes the thing that was supposed to happen, did....BANG!
Bottom line, don't waste you time considering the Wolff striker spring. Unless you want to rehearse my title ... @*#!
By the way, the Golden Saber 160 grain is fantastic. Expansion, accuracy, recoil were all just down right great. I think I'm going to make this my EDC round.
God I love the K40! I used to rely on my Sig P239 as one of my primary EDC's, but the Kahr carries so much easier, I am glad I discovered them.

First time ever that I heard anyone having an issue with the Wolff spring.

Absolutely the FIRST report of any problems. I have put them in 7 Kahrs. I can only conclude that you did something "different". Don't blame the spring!

Call Wolff, I bet they will replace it. I have used them for years and never had any problems, only excellent results.

I have the 5 pounder in all three of mine. No problems at all. Just made a good trigger better.

Minehas beeninmy PMJ9 for over 30Krounds. also in my K9 NYPD trigger for about 5K rounds, never one issue.
I did not know unil wyn mentioned it that the same 5# striker spring fits in the 380 kahrs also.

I have used Wolff springs for years. Years.
Maybe the ammo I used required a stronger strike.
Maybe Wolff made a mistake and gave me the wrong spring, or it was defective.
I can't say, except it didn't work for me.
Or maybe it's not the first time Wolff has experienced the problem as they have a glowing warning on their website in regards to the #5... Warning: This spring is for competition use only - not for duty use.
I did assemble the gun correctly. Because of your responses, I in fact tried the Wolff striker spring again and it didn't work a second time.
Not all Kahr's are the same. All I am saying is that it didn't work for me and being that I carry the K40 to protect my life, I would rather have a stronger trigger pull than be dead.
If it works you you, then fantastic. I'm not betting my life on it.

Both of my Kahr pistols have the 5# Wolff striker springs and go bang every time I pull the trigger until empty. Did you clean the striker channel before you installed the new spring? The striker channel needs to be clean and dry.

u got a bad spring, would be no different than if u got a bad spring from kahr. It is what it is. My intentions was not tosay u didn't know what u were doing and it might have looked that way, sorry about that. That 5# striker spring is as good as the facotry poundage. As ALL members here have stated, they have neveer had one issue with the 5# spring. 5# is not a pu$$y poundage. Glocks go down much lower even if u so desire, poor example but basically the same design. The warning is simply a CYA statement, nuttin more.

Hard primers would have nuttin to do with a 5# striker IMO, again this is not a pu$$y poundage
You have had enough experience with wolffs it seems to know that sumpin happend here that is not the norm. They would notoffer any springs that is in their testing even marginally close to not working. That is not wolffs either.
I do understand ur concern also, U outta send that spring to wyn on this forum,he has a K40 and let him test it out, as I think he even shots the 5# stdriker. He could be the best teter of this spring as he knows his 5# works perfect and if urs does not then we can reasonally assume it is a bad spring and nothing else..

No worries jocko, I took no offense, although I did sound defensive.
The next time I place an order, I will give the #5 another try. Afterall, they are only $3.50.
If I received a bad one, well it's not the end of the world, but my point was that since it seems that some people have problems with magazines as an example, while others don't, the important thing is reliablity.
The spring my simply not be good for my particular Kahr.

no doubt to install that spring u have to have the side apart. did u notice anything that might be of a hindrence to this spring from working right. Did u spray clean out that striker channel jus tin case some sh!tis piled up in the channel somewhwere that again might slow down that striker...
