My quest for the perfect CCW gun is finally complete!

I love my K9. I bought it new (wanted used but I guess K9 owners tend to hold on to them) and fired 250 rounds through it without a hitch. It rattles alot when not loaded but I can live with that.

It's replacing my P7M8 as my carry piece because the P7's grip tends to stick out a bit. But the K9 is perfect, and whatta trigger!

Taking it apart is PITA (only gun I've ever seen that I have to beat with the handle of a screwdriver to get apart), getting it back together is no picnic either. But I can live with that, too.

I may put night sights on it. The only mod I've made is some skateboard tape on the front of the grip.at

I have an E9 which is a cheaper version of the K9 ... I like it a lot. It's a nice size and a very smooth shooting gun. Congratulations.

Congratulations on your new purchase, you will continue to love it. One thing that will aid in slide lock removal is to insert an empty mag while taking the gun apart. Makes the slide lock come out much easier.

Kahr sells a block to fit into the ejection port that holds the slide open, making it easier to dismantle.

Practice will make this chore easier, the more you do it. I've gotten to the point that I can just hold the slide in a sort of "glock grip" and then I use the base of a mag to PUSH the pin out. One thing never changes... that little spring holds the slide stop pin tight.

Reassembling, I also use the "glock grip" to be able to slightly retract the slide while inserting the pin. Then when it pops in at that sweet spot, I can easily pull the slide back to line up the pin and notch for that final push through the frame.

Another thing some folk do is to make their own ejection port block with any appropriate sized material, say a piece of wood dowel.

I like the Mepro night sights on my K9. The slightly larger rings around the vials are easier for me to see in daylight.

The Crimson Trace laser grip is another enhancement. A most non-intrusive way to supplement your aiming capability. Expensive, but they are a well made, quality product.

A Sharpie pen held in your mouth for that "third hand" to find the right position in the ejection port, works, too.

Lots of K9 love here! Wasn't there something about the position of the slide release spring that makes it easier to pop it out?

I had better luck banging the slide lock lever pin against my head. As soon as i GET the stiches out I intend to make a video.Just sayin

That is where I learned that trick. Still not as easy as my T, but much easier than without an empty mag inserted. Still have to have it in just the right place for it to work.

Inserting the empty mag makes no difference to getting the pin out of my Elite03. What does work is holding the side of the mag against the head of the pin, then moving the slide back until it pops. Works great.

My K9 and MK9, both Elites, have moved to the front of the CCW class for me, replacing my P9 and PM9 for the most part. I've found the extra weight of the metal frame to be no problem for all day carry and helps the gun to return to target faster for rapid fire. And the grips feel like the gun was molded to my hand...they just feel great, especially the K9. Love'em both!
