Well this is my first post on here. I had been doing to research on here because I had decided I wanted a P380 pocket gun. I had the Kel-Tec P3AT...cheap junk. Then figured I would drop some cash on a SIG p238 when they came out. I liked it but didn't like the safety or the weight. I had the HD model. Figured I would try out a KAHR. Ive had the P380 in the back of my mind for a couple years and finally decided to do something about it. Went to Gander Mountain to see if I could fondle one. They had two :). So long story short it was setting beside a CM9. I looked them both over and couldn't decide....so I bought both. I'm now a Kahr fan. I figured I would hit some smaller shops around town and see if I could find a PM9 with night sights. I don't need both but why not. Well I found a used P9 that was like new. I thought the P9 had a longer grip and slide but it was the same grip length as my CM9. So I'm now thinking I have some sort of mut gun someone put together. After further research I find out it was on the box the whole time. It was a "COVERT". Pretty cool I really like the slightly longer slide with the PM9 grip. Not what I went looking for but it was $400 so I took it home. It didn't have night sights so I sent it off to KAHR this mourning for some trijicons. And while I was there I saw a CW9 that was used but like new. I got it for $300 in a package deal. Well 4 of these Kahrs have followed me home in about a months time. Sorry to ramble just was pretty excited to stumble upon the P9 COVERT. I didn't find much on here about the gun. Does anyone have one or know why they stopped making them?

Welcome to the forum. The factory P9 covert must be pretty rare. I've only heard of one other, and didn't know it was a model until that owner showed up here as well. Enjoy those new Kahrs.

I will make sure to save the box. I will post some pics when I get the slide back from Kahr with my new night sights. Does anyone know what kind of a turn around they have?

Did you get that Covert in Indiana? I think I have seen your name on a forum locally. Coverts are really cool. Jim

Many years ago, I had a p40 covert. I eventually sold it because I didn't like the two tone gun. I sold it for m first pm40.

Very Nice gun. That gun does have a 5#trigger spring in it. I know the gun very well. Jim

I made a 'Covert' out of my P9 and it's my EDC right now. Shoots great and is very accurate. Wasn't too difficult and turned out pretty nice. Would post pictures but don't think I've been around long enough to do that.

For the original poster, and others who are interested....

This older post has some history and comments about the Covert models:
Covert Models on KahrTalk (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=16502)

As I stated in that post, and I still believe it today -- to me, the Covert is what the PM9 should have been.

I prove that each time I take my Covert and my daughter's finance (who bought my older PM9) out shooting together. The Covert's extra muzzle heft and slightly longer sight radius greatly improve the shootability and hits versus his PM9, in my experience.

Tight groups.

Welcome to Kahr Talk from a fellow Hoosier.

I too am on INGO. Plus, I'm a Kahr lover with a K40 Covert and a TP45. The TP is my daily wintertime carry pistol. It's slim, it's pretty and shoots like a pea shooter with kick.

It would be nice if you would buy my FoxX Trapp IWB holster for that COVERT. Just because I bought it for that gun !!

If this is addressed to me, I own a White Hat Holster that I bought a shell to fit my K40. That stype holster and the K Covert is a very nice carry setup.

I actually bought a Crossbreed for my CM9 a few weeks ago and the P9 fits excellent in it but thanks for the offer.

If you know the gun very well... just curious why the rear sight was on backwards?

The owner must of done that. But I did it to mine also. I did it because I hate the I sight picture. I always just knocked the rear paint off with a tooth pick, it all came off at once. But I always ran a red fiber optic also and wanted a black rear sight. All I did is cleaned the channel and installed the 5# striker spring. But I used that gun for measurements to make my CW9 Covert. That was a sweet shooter. Jim

I mentioned on this forum that I had taken a Kahr 40 COVERT and a P9 and made them into a P9 Covert. Worked ! Serial numbers were a problem. I imagine a lot of people thought about this. Anyway, got my REAL P9 Covert, so it is all cool. This is a nice little gun. Welcome and good luck with your "new" Covert.
