This is not a gun bashing session. I was simply thinking about my PM40 and how it compared to the CW only from the perspective of size and capacity. I found that the PM offers the benefit of compactness with the 5 rd mag. However, with the 6 rd mag in the PM, both guns (PM and CW)offer the same capacity, grip size and the PM becomes similar in height to the CW. However, The PM is lighter and has a shorter barrel (length overall 5.47") vs the CW's (6.36" overall length). The added length (a little over 3/4") coupled with the slight increase in weight of the CW, might cause the CW to have slightly less felt recoil...but it may not be that perceptible in a 40.

Taking nothing away from the CW format....the PM has the benefit of the extended mag which allows it to cross over from a subcompact 5 rd mag capacity gun, to the slightly larger, yet compact size of the CW. I find that I use the extended mag much more during the winter months when I wear more clothing. For that matter, even a full size handgun could be easily concealed here in the north during the winter. However, once the weather warms, the PM's subcompact 5 rd mag is a nice CCW benefit.

Again, this is not intended as a gun bashing....just a simple comparison. They are both fine Kahr guns. It is just my 2 cents, as I was thinking on this today. Peace.

Yep, the PM fills the IWB role of the CW with the extended mag and can be pocket carried with the flush mag. the P/CM is more versatile IMO as you can't make the CW smaller...

well actually u ca make the cw smaller, not really practical but many here have done it. "
covert". Both would be concealalbe IMO, even the cw is pocketable for many people with largersize body and maybe bigger pockets. I think it is more designed for the belt carry of some kind and with an extened mag in it, u also can gain more rounds that u can't duplicate in the PM or CM series.

Personally for me I never give much thought to that one extra round in my pMJ9 by goin to the extended mag, Had I really wanted thatI wuld have boughty the cw and just stayed with the flush fit looks.
Its a good conversation garyB, certainly worth more than 2 cents..
I will not dress to carry, to fokkingold to be doin that sh!t today. If I can't get tyhe job done in7 shots, more than likely I am dead or on theway to getting there, but that bein said I can carry my PMJ9 inmy front pocket of any pair of jeans that I wear, Granted ain't gonna win any fast draw contests in that area but I realy don't worry about that either. No one knows I carry so I do have that advantage, unlie a LEO in uniform

Here in the north country, we are forced to dress heavier...or we'd freeze our tails off in this 10 degree weather. We are not specifically dressing for carry, but the winter clothes allow us to carry a bigger gun...just saying. When we spend part of our winter months in FL, now that's a different story. I tend to pack my wife's 380 in the pocket the entire time we are in the heat. Kind of forced to. I agree Jocko...I don't worry about draw contests either. I'm just happy to have a piece with me in my pocket instead of a gun locked up at home. Nothing wrong with pocket carry over vault carry.

But anyway, I can see where the CW is more of a belt or IWB sized gun. I was merely saying that the PM does have the capability to kind of cross over from being a small bull dog of a subcompact, to being what the CW is made to cover. The PM does have some size versatility to it. That was kind of the only point I was making. Nothing intended to bash the CW, which is a great gun too. Hopefully you understand my point.

Mine too but it looks rather strange here in FL wearing shorts 99% of the time. ;)

The CW has it's place. It's place is in the night stand.
