I had a chance to take a look at a CW380 this morning. Great looking little gun, it will be my next purchase. I tried field striping the gun to take a look at the inside, but I could not get the slide stop out. The slide stop barely stuck out the back side of the gun.

The slide stop on my CW9 comes out easily without much effort, this was a different story. I know there are not many CW380 out yet, but any help would be appreciated.

On a side note the CW380 was dripping in oil, the LGS had just received it yesterday and did not even have it tagged or in the case, I was looking at their P380 and asked about the CW. The owner over heard me and said they just got this one and went in the back and got it for me to look at. He priced it at $339.

Yep! In every new polymer Kahr that I have purchased, the slide stop was almost impossible to remove when brand new. The Kahr take down video on their site at this link: http://www.kahr.com/Videos.asp shows the demonstrator using a small hammer to get it started!

It doesn't take too many rounds before it loosens up, but at first you will need something harder than your finger to force it out.

Yes, YMMV. ;)

use the base of an empty magazine to push it out once you get it lined up.

I use a old small S&W screwdriver that works fine to lift the slide release once it is lined up with the slot. It's easier than the hammer.

From the tools that came with those great, older S&W revolvers . . . OK, color me jealous now (with apologies to Ms. Streisand).

+1 Likewise. I use the corner of the mag base to get the pin started on my P380. The pin on my CM9 can be pushed out with my finger.

I picked up mine today. I just used a Glock tool to push it out no problem.. I am pretty impressed with this little gun so far. The feed ramp has a mean polish job on it and fit and finish are great for a $320.00 pistol. I will shoot it tomorrow so we will see if she runs like she looks. Got a 100 round box of Winchester flat nose white box bullets and some +P Buffalo Bore flat nose 100gr to run through her to break it in..

Took it out and ran 50 or so rounds through her today and it ran great! I was able to jam it up by limp wristing it with the Winchester flat nose bullets. They have a very large flat front not tapered as well as the Buffalo Bore bullets. Very impressive little pistol for the money. Now my girlfriend want's to sell her LCP to get one..

I ordered a some parts upgrade for my CW380.

1) Spare set of recoil springs (1 ea.) - Direct from Kahr
2) P380 Slide Machined Slide Stop - Direct from Kahr - Probably coincidental, but it's actually .5-1mm longer on the other side making it easy to push out for take down now as a bonus!
3) Bedair Stainless Guide rod. An interesting note is the one I received is 1mm shorter than the factory OEM. I wonder if that slight barrel difference in the P380 is the reason? As usual, Steve Bedair is outstanding in customer service and he is sending me a 1mm longer guide rod. I measured 47mm with the Black Kahr and 46mm for the Bedair. I will follow up once the new one arrives. The 46mm Bedair one cycles just fine, but I haven't (and won't) shoot it with the shorter one since he is sending out a replacement.

It would be interesting to have someone with a P380 measure the guiderod to see if it is 46mm or 47mm long end to end.

Keep an unseparated pair of chopsticks in your gun cleaning kit. Set it near the corner of a table. Line the marks on the slide and frame up with both hands. Press the pin of the slide stop against the chopstick on the table. And out it comes!

Is the oem guide rod in the CW380 not stainless? Or did you just order the other one for color purposes?

Good idea on the P380 slide stop. Will order one. Wish Kahr had a Pro Shop like Sig does. It would be close enough for me to drive to

Guide rod is black and I assume it's not SS, plus the Bedair is tapered at the end making reassembly MUCH easier IMHO. If you do order a guide rod, I just figured out the CW slide is slighter longer and so the guide rod needs to be 1-1.5mm longer.

Slide stop was purely a "want" and simple upgrade considering the savings over a P model.

the one peace guide rod in kahrs are not stainless. Bedair makes a good one but just be sure it is the right length.. as Firewire stated..
