Took my CM9 out to the range, using my new 7 round and the 6 round magazines, with Blazer and Winchester 115 gr FMJ ammo was again, flawless. No problems whatsoever. Now if I can just shoot it better I would be in heaven. I keep shooting low, I'm not sure if it's my sight picture. I use the traditional line the top of the sights on the target center and I still shoot low. Do I need to line the front dot over the target center? That would probably move my shots higher. Took my M&P Core and was dead on with it. Would a Crimson Trace laser sight help me with the CM9? Maybe I'm compensating for the recoil? I need to try some snap caps I guess to see. I'm still very happy with the pistol, no operation problems whatsoever. I know most the problem with shooting is with my bad eyes. I can't see the sights without glasses but with glasses the target becomes blurry, with a red dot I can see both perfectly.

The sight picture should look like a dotted "I" with the dot covering your intended point of impact. These are combat sights. The sight picture that you described with a 6 0'clock hold is for target sights. It's also possible that you are breaking your wrist down as a compensation for recoil. (aka anticipating recoil) Have a friend randomly load snap caps or dummy rounds into you magazine and that problem will be uncovered quickly when you shoot. The long double action trigger pull also takes a little getting used to. With practice you should be able to group your shots within a 3" circle at 21'.

Yes...

Nice report. Welcome aboard.

No one can focus at two different distances at the same time. Your focus should be on your front sight. The target and rear sight should be a soft blur. A red dot superimposes the dot on the target and that's why you can see both clearly. You might want to consider a laser sight if standard sights continue to be a problem.
