GE is moving from Wisconsin. Keep your eye on Waukesha, Wisconsin, Their biggest employer just moved out. General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from
Waukesha, Wis. to Beijing .
In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes - the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States.
So let's get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.
Thanks Jeff, you're a "real" American, and give Obama our best!
If this doesn't demonstrate the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does.
Please pass this information to others and think about it, before you buy a GE product.

Personally we do a piss poor job of trying ti keep big busnessi the U.S. Ur gonna seemore of this in the future to unlesswe get alittlemore U.S. busness friendly. Walk through Wal Mart,Kohls. Target,Sears, Macy's any fokking store u want and ur gonna see nuttin but foreigh stuff in there.Boycott um if u want but until the goverment gets more business friendly this will continue and most people realy only care about PRICE and right now we aren't competing. Not defending GE but its allabout business and STAYING IN BUSINESS. dO U ACTUALY THINK bOEING MAKES THEIR ENTIRE PLANES IN THE u. s.? Their wings are made over seas. I guess don't fly Boeing either.
Always makes me kinda laugh when I see a new store, be it walmart, kohls, Target, K-Mart being built and the unions picking it like therei s no tomorrow and the day they have their opening, every union family is in there grabbing up the bargains. I don't think GE wants to be over seas but also that is a tremendous market for them also,to it has to be lower in price to make it over there and to sell it there than making it here and then getting it over there. Some of these cuntries have such fokking high tariffs about imports that it is not economical to make it here and try to sell it over there. Course we are to fokking dumb to put the same restrictions on any cuntry that puts restrictions on us. Oprn up the markets FAIR AND SQUARE. China ships their sh!t over here and we don't do jack sh!t but try to do busines in chinca and see how far u get, Japan is no better. We have alot of Japanese industry in our cuntry, expecially the automotive industry.I wonder what the Japanese people over there think about that. Works both ways. MOre than likely a 115 year old plant is no more productive in todays market either. Just sayin... and when the numbercrunchers get done and they show it is far more economical and profitable to build it somewhere else, they will do it. Its a global economy anymore, we better get used to it.Riase the hood on a new car and it willsay somewhere where most of the major parts are made, sure in the hellain't 100% American made stuff in a GMcar or Ford, or chrysler who now is owned by Fiatt and do u thihk Fiatt is not gonna bring their vehicles and parts in from Italy instead of building a plant. Good example the dieslel engivnes in dodge vehicles will no longer just be 100% cummins, but now Fiatt makes their own diesle over seas and will be putting them in their vehicles.

Jeff Immelt is one of Obama's biggest presidential campaign contributors and a liberal progressive socialist. Why do you think he got the appointment? Nuff said?

Jocko you the man BUT Boeing controls and assembles it wings for the most part in the U.S. because they don't want to let go of that technology. This is what fly the airplanes. Anybody can build fuselage's, just a round tube. But the reason in your in post is right on.

From a dollar standpoint GE does more business outside the USA than inside so why are people getting their panties in a twist when a company moves to where its markets are?

Maybe it's because of the benefits gathered from the USA not to say anything of investing and growing your home country. Might also be a way to reinvest some of the NO taxes paid for the year.

andu might even beright. I thought I had read that part whyere theunions was tryingt oget boeing to bring back their wing mfguring to Washington from over seas. For te most part this cuntry and utters are all now selling to each utter and building in each utters cuntrys.
If we could and would just level theplaying field, I wouldhave zero issues with building over seas. Hell Eli Lilly has plants cost rico the we make here and the ship there to be pu7t in to pillcapsuls, now there has tob e some cost/tax advantage to that, wouldu not think. Our government is driving them away. They are gonnamake that money over seas and just keep it thgere and expand even more. Makes no sense but u gotta know that ovoit has very few business people in his goverment, He has the mind of a piss ant, and right now is over in Hawaii and could give a rats ass about what is goin on here.
But heh, Lindsay Von sprained her fokking leg again. DO U REALLY GET TIRED OF HEARING THIS HAS BEEN, She is done, stick a fork in her, she will never win anutter olyjmpic, probably never even quality and I just get so fokking tired of reaidng about her and sh!tface woods, as if the sports world evolves around either of them. I wold not ay $5 to see her pole dance. Just sayin.

:boink:....Some of it is build where you sell. Kinda like Buy American, 'cept different. Other part is our economy has to compete globally. If it can't, we lose.

For those that think the beoing 777 is mainly made here including wings is sooo wrong. Wings are south Korean. Mainly just assembled her. Looks like beoing is going to go mostly to Dubai for production and assembly.

If anyone thinks much of GE need to go read the wiki page in them. Not much left of GE as use older folks remember. Today they make more money dealing in the finance than making products. They use to make consumer products all our homes had in them . Not any more. The names still there but that's just a shell for some other brand to often today.

nice post.kindaverifyswhatI wassaying. Ido thinkthough that Boeing makesw their toilet lids in the U.S. at a cost of around 5K per lid. Just sayin. Their a$$wipe is made by Charmin and if u look fasst upon flushing it, u can seeit flying out the right sideejection port of the new777 boeing. No more will u see blue ice coming down, it will be definitely be clored brown ice,so their is no doubt that u have been sh!t on. Just sayin. No doubt in my mind thereis a deal somewherewith Dubai and boeing on where the bulk of the 777 parts will be made. The unions here better wake up. Airbus would do the same thing to get that kind of a contract, so it is all about business and staying in business...:Amflag2:

Boeing wings in S. Korea. Years ago when I was involved Boeing wouldn't let go of the wing info. I'm sorry to see they've let go. They definitely are not the company they used to be as most of the large company are. Not a lot pride in ownership anymore, just give me the money.

love some of the addson some products. "Made in American with foreighn parts.
Or leather products that say assembled in Mexicao with Ameirican leather. It was a few years ago but I waswalkingand walked by my Ford dealer and seen one of their cars that caught my eye, so I waslooking at the sticker ad somewhere on that sticker it said. Engine made in Canada and transmission made in Germany. Just not alof of big products anymore made totally in America. We all seem to depend on utter companies who make a product thatwe need to make it for us, Many products are just assembly products. Apple is a good one. nOT AN iPHONE OR ipAD MADE HERE...Techoology certainly came ou of Komiforna but not the production of it. Just goes hand in hand anymore, so we best getused to it for it ain't ever gonna go away. If u demand Ameircan cloths, u just might someday go naked.... Just sayin

Hey guys , wake up. Nothing in the usa is like it once was. Thanks to lazy employes , bad union practices and money grubbing corporate heads have turn us into a second class country .
The blame does not belong to any one part ether. All share in the final break down of the usa. We are leaving our young children and grand kids one f'd up country and us older guys have seen the best of times peak a few decades ago. Atleast that's my few of it.
Now it just a down hill slide. All depends now on how steep that slide gets and if there in valleys to slow it down. .
It's the rise and fall of....(name your favorite empire/country example). This be how it's always worked since the beginning.

Our old General Electric is dead, so buy no more of the new company's products. The new Global Economy is here to stay.

I was born and raised there......................GE used to be a great place to work. Had a friend who worked second shift. He used to leave work to come and league bowl on our team on Thurs. nights. No one ever knew he was gone. He worked in the shipping dept. I asked him once, what he did. He said " nuthin". I asked, doesn't anyone at least pick up a broom. He said why. He said they used to sit around and play cards and grill out. That just about explains it. If he would have been caught, the union probably would have saved his job, because they had done it many times before. I hear people in China actually work. You reap what you sew.
