Hello, I have had my P380 for maybe a year. Typically love the Kahr quality but it seems recently when shooting (or trying to shoot) my P380 I am having more FTF's than normal. I am using Winchester white box ammo and when squeezing the trigger I get a hammer strike but nothing.. After awaiting for the "Hang fire" I rack the slide and check the ammo out, the hammer struck the primer by evidence of the dent in the primer. Not only one but several in the same magazine.. Anyone else have any issues? I know the gun is clean and this is a back up carry gun, not having much confidence at the time. I am not the original owner also.. What are my options?
Thanks in advance.. plus, reading that its taking two months for service not real excited about sending it back to Kahr..

Have you tried a different brand ammo? Seems like a logical place to start.

yes, I have tried other ammo and it appears that it does not matter what ammo it is.. I have not shot this gun in awhile and this is the ammo last used is why I mentioned it. I will try several different brands and see if the issue is the same for all of them.

pics of the primers that were striked?
When you manually move the striker forward out of the hole, how much of the tip protrudes?

Two things to check for when experiencing light strikes is a clean striker channel and to see if the gun is going fully into battery after it is fired. If the slide is slightly out of battery when you pull the trigger a part of the power of the striker will be lost as the slide moves into full battery. You also want to check for proper lubrication of your Kahr pistol. Light strikes can also be an indication of a cracked frame or a weak striker spring.

@muggsy, I will do a through cleaning of the gun and insure its lubed up for the next outing. Since it is harder to find a couple of brands of ammo it may be a day for the next test. @Nismo, I did not keep any of the FTF's but will do so if they are experienced the next test. BTW, are you a Nissan fan?

I am unable to post pictures so that stinks... I am not tech savvy as to posting them on another site so I guess I wont worry about it..

Yes, Nissan fan here. I had this screen name on car forums for years and used it when I got into gun forums in the early 2000's.
If you need help posting pics, just PM me.
